Simple question..like brick to the face obvious..

Ignore core issues with crucible for now. So my understanding is crucible maps were removed because the coding was incompatible with new engine. Cool, I get it. Why in the world could Gambit maps not be converted to crucible maps as well(and vice versa)? They already have 3 zones. They would honestly suit pretty well for 6s, shoot, takes me a lot longer to maneuver a Gambit map than a crucible map. Not to mention opens up some long range gunplay. (If we leave out the heavy) I almost never seen an invader with a shotgun.. you consistently see scouts, pulses, snipers. Like maps suitable for 3v3 should not also be in 6v6 rotation, the spawn trap is real and it's so easy to be oppressive. The main point is a much needed variety here. Yay witch queen will bring back one old map, and in another season we will get 1 BRAND SPANKING NEW map..... You are not utilizing four viable maps though. I do not understand the effort that this would actually take, but imagine it'd be easier than completely remaking 1 and building 1 from scratch. I really must be missing something, or someone's getting paid too much..🤔
I really must be missing something, or someone's getting paid too much
Gambit maps are laid out differently than Crucible maps, and promote a different kind of combat. Crucible maps are very closed off, have very short sight lines, and tend to funnel players into close-to-mid-range combat (hand cannon and shotty range). Maps that are laid out in ways that don't do this, tend to be very unpopular. Most of the maps that were removed from the game did that. Which is why I don't buy Bungie's line about their coding being incompatible. They were removed so that they could be redesigned....not recoded. Gambit maps OTOH are very OPEN. Each one tends to have a open circular area in the middle (the bank), then a mid-ring with cover, then an outer ring with cover. This means that its possible for skilled invaders to move from one end of the map to the other, without leaving cover for any length of time.....but also to attack from one end of the arena to the other with snipers, rockets, LMGs, LFRs etc due to the very long sightlines. While at the same time you have no really effective flanking routes. Going around the "hub" when dealing with a single invader is one thing. Trying to traverse that open layout when you have 3 or 4 people posting up at the back of one side of the map with scouts and snipers....and blowing the head off of anyone who raises their head would get nightmarish pretty quick. As most Gambit maps would be very easy to lock down, and then spawn trap an opposing team with the right loadouts and a minimum of coordination. The spawn camping of both invaders, and downed defenders during an invasion is still a problem in Gambit.
