Do I have to buy destiny 2 again to complete legacy content?

So it seems that even though I have destiny 2 beyond light, to continue the quest Legacy: path of the splicer I have to start the activity Override: tangled shore. I'm unable to start this quest with season of the splicer which brings me to the destiny 2 deluxe edition upgrade package. (The picture unfortunately doesn't have the "requires season of the splicer tag" I tried screenshotting and pasting but it didn't work) This normally wouldn't be a problem but when I go to check out through steam it notifies me that I already have the item "destiny 2 beyond light". Do I have to buy the Expansion twice to complete legacy content? or is there some sort of misunderstanding. I would rather not buy it twice if someone could clarify or maybe look into the issue it would be greatly appreciated. tyty <3

 • You do not need to buy Beyond Light twice. If you already own the BL expansion on your account, then you would only need to purchase the Beyond Light Deluxe Upgrade, which has its own store listing on Steam. Please do keep in mind that the season pass content included in the Deluxe, will only be playable until February 22nd. Once Witch Queen releases, the seasonal content from year four will be going away. So you will want to take that into account, when deciding if you wish to go ahead with buying the upgrade.
