Revamp patrol loot

Patrols are stupid right now, yes their objectives are easy, but who's gonna do alot of killing for 2 mats and 400 glimmer? No one. Patrols should be revamped to give more loot. 6 destination materials and 1000 glimmer minimum, and a decent chance to drop a legendary item from loot pool or a rare chance of dropping a Prime Engram. You know those patrols where you hunt down specific enemies? Like "Scavenger Beast" in Trostland? Those patrols should be made harder, and loot should increase for those too. The loot should atleast give 8 destination materials, 2 000 glimmer. Like in Europa, there should also be heroic versions of assassination patrols which replace the enemy you need to assassinate with an ultra which gives 3000 glimmer and 10 destination materials, and 1 legendary. Better loot than what we have right now. Patrols are useless.

  • People would grind them if they dropped 5 enhancement cores a pop for heroic and 3 for regular...

    • I've been playing D1 alot lately, I've definitely noticed how stingy D2 feels in comparison. Patrols, public events, opening caches etc, so much better loot in D1

    • Totally agree. Other than maybe a few triumphs/ bounties. There feels like no reason to go to various locations anymore. Idk when the last time I actively went to a location for fun. Making patrol missions harder would be fun, increasing the loot (maybe enhancement core harvesting or rare events that reward rarer loot—- the dream city got the rare event part but not the reward for how challenging some are). How cool would it be for something close to a 6 player event boss have a chance of spawning (no timer or anything) and maybe have Mechanics based on that zone. Everyone would flock to that and unite. People would just goof around in the world, just hoping it would spawn. It would feel like an MMORPG again. I loved the D1 days where I would just be doing random stuff and then coming across players just making the best of their time while waiting for the taken bosses to spawn. Met so many people that way.

      • Yeah, in terms of the reward economy they offer nothing. And the rates at which you earn destination materials varies wildly (Dreaming City and Tangled give so many mats in comparison to the EDZ). I think they should be the fastest eay to farm low rarity currencies, like glimmer, destination materials etc.

      • The best that they could do is to limit world drops to the planet/destination you're patrolling. You in EDZ patrolling? drops EDZ rewards, likewise for every destination. The whole gamut of items we have in game being in one big loot pool is the dumbest way of dropping loot of any I've seen, it makes it too hard to naturally get predictable drops that are targetable and usable in buildcrafting situations. Fixing this should be the biggest QoL improvement for those who are detail oriented. Once a system that manages to do this is in place, all future targeted gear farming would be improved greatly. The main issue I would see is when you try to apply it to weapons that have multiple sources, but even that would probably be easy enough to overcome rfom a programming perspective.

      • It would be grate to see rare shades ships, sparrows and emblams exclusively applied to free roam chests as it was in D1 blueprints that you have to complete tasks in order to get the item would be grate for end game grind

      • Why stop at the loot? Revamp patrol completely. And ffs give it more enemy’s. A lot more.

        • Agree with patrols needing a reward boost of materials and glimmer. They could use those harder patrols to drop upgrade modules and the rare occasion even cores.
