Sounds like something went wrong. Delete what you have and start again... maybe after clearing your system's cache. Also make sure you do not have any data loss issues with your internet. You may be downloading of a disc but any patches issued by Bungie and all the dlc are digital downloads especially that far into a download progress. Your discs may be fine but what about the disc drive????

  • Also , I didn't think I had to install the game off the disk? Or do you just mean installing extra updates?

  • Well for redownload ing updates, I have over and over, how do I clear system cache tho? Also my disk drive works about 20 other games and has never failed once so I doubt that one.

  • To clear a console's cache is simple... you just have to turn it off. Not onto standby but really off. If the console takes longer to boot up then the cache has been cleared.

  • I think I have already but how do you turn it off that way?

Shut it down and take the power lead out, 20 seconds should suffice but longer won’t hurt. Edit: some people leave their console in standby (rest) mode as opposed to actually shutting it down

  • Another thought, after looking at various posts around the web; Disconnect the console from your network when you install, then open the game and see if it will finish installing the game data. You can reconnect and download any updates after it’s done. If this does work, then it may have been a networking issue - even if it doesn’t seem to make sense that way.

  • It doesn't let me open the game or do the download without internet. Like I said before I'm not stuck at the system update for the game. I'm stuck at when I open the game it says installing destiny after title screen and under it says transferring content. When it gets to 97 or 95 it resets to 0, I have video that I can post on youtube if it would help

I understand that it is not the downloading of the update which is the issue. It is possible that some data is being downloaded (as GreatCyberBoy suggested) and that is what is causing the problem. I had hoped that it would have let you install the game data from the disc prior to checking it was connected to the internet. This seems to have worked for many people with other games - I guess that is not the case with Destiny though. I’m not sure that a video would be necessary, as it doesn’t show any relevant info other than the percentage. Edit: out of interest, are you using WiFi or Ethernet?

  • Damn. I’ve been scouring various forums all over the web. I know you said that the disc doesn’t have any scratches, but have you tried cleaning it? It’s surprising how many people said that this was ultimately how they resolved the same issue.

From every post I’ve read, and that’s a lot now, the most likely culprits have always been: Scratched / dirty disc Network Hdd Short of hooking that hdd up to a pc to run a diagnostic, are you able to try another hdd (install OS via usb) or even try another PS3?

  • It's like it stops wanting to read the disk at 97 but when it does it goes back to 0

Do you notice if the disc drive sounds different when the progress stalls? In a few forum threads people said they could hear the drive frantically trying to read the disc at that point

  • Well before the percentage goes up, it'll sound like it's reading then it stops, you wait a sec and it reads, but when it reads for 97 doesn't do anything and when it does, blame 0

I've used both, and it shows the gb next to percentage. It can't be the stuff I've already had downloaded cause like I said before, I had it deleted and I redownload ed it about 10 times now Edit: I just tried another database thing from safe mode, I'll tell you if it works
