Guardian Stories B1, House of Witches. Part 14: Calm Before the Storm.

Writers Note: I have been incredibly busy, but thank you as always, the next couple/few parts will be the battle so be ready. I'm so excited to get to the end it's crazy. Guardian ships came into land from above them, dozens of them. Guardians started to transmat down onto the ground, Akain could see both the Darkfire and Candance fireteams gathering to meet each other and discuss what happens next. Should we join them? Akain said to Eve, He was not sure what to do next. Eve sat quietly, evidently thinking to herself, her fist under her chin as tried to come up with a plan. Akain did what he always did when he was unsure of there plans and reviewed the data he had stolen from the Fallen Ketch. Akain didn't ask again, he himself went into silent mental debates with himself, even when it came to what should he eat for diner. As Akain read he noticed the Fallen Scribe Arvik had keep many notes, from patrol data to each project that was taking place. The Fallen words for their tanks appeared a few times, Akain found out that they had started to build the Mammoth Walker or in their words "Crawling Home" and instead of it being a weapon, it was supposed to be a home that could move, to stay out of of danger and trouble. Akain felt sympathy, if he had known about this faction of Fallen he would have approached them and tried to make contact, they seemed to take a peaceful approach to problems, such a shame what happened to them. Then he found something, schematics to the Crawling Home, Akain was momentarily shocked by his findings, he quickly began to read them, looking for any signs of weakness. There! Akain spook out loud. What is it? Eve asked not turning her head, like she was still deep in thought. I found how we can destroy the Mammoth Walker, if these schematics are right and they seem to be, the only difference to the schematics is the giant cannon on it's back and the diversions of power cables. Eve turned her head, so how do we destroy it? Eve spoke hurriedly. Underneath it, it has mechanics hatches, we have to climb in through one of them and make our way to the core, it has seven power cores in the centre, one for each leg and one the runs all the machines inside, including the giant cannon on the Walker. If we overload that with one power core it should at least make it unusable, if we put all the cores in together it will cause a huge explosion, enough to blow the Walker into pieces. Akain finished and looked up at Eve, her face was full of determination. We can do it. Eve said under her breath. Let me download the schematics, I have a plan and if more reinforcements come we might actually win this. Eve said as she stood up and walked over to her store of weapons. You won't need that sword anymore, take this and she pulled out a rocket launcher. Akain stood in shock. How do you have that? Most of them were destroyed during the Red Legions invasion of the Tower. Akain spoke, never thinking he would see one of these again. Luckily, I don't store my things in the Tower, so this is one of the few surviving Gallahorns remaining. Akain took the Gallahorn from her, he felt like he was holding a nuclear weapon in his hands. Akain gave back the sword to Eve and attached the Gallahorn to his back. Eve took out a modified machine gun for herself, it had a comically oversized magazine, Akain would have laughed if Eve didn't look so terrifying with it. Come on lets head down to met the others. Eve said after she reequipped herself with ammo. They transmatted from the ship onto the snowy ground. What seemed to be the two fireteam leaders were arguing. Look, if we take to the air again the skiffs will shoot us down before we can do anything and by ground we will be wiped out in seconds by the smaller Walkers. We took down one Skiff, it cost four ships and a Guardians life. One of the fireteam leader shouted at the other. The shouting fireteam leader raised his hand and started to walk towards Eve. Look the scouting team has come to us, you were supposed to get information and that was it, what in the name of the Traveler were you thinking! The fireteam leader was approaching Eve, like her, he was a hunter but a foot taller, his armour was new, it looked rare and extravagant, he stood an inch from her face, squaring up to her. Move. Eve said in a plain, casual voice, like she was having a polite conversation with him. He went to shove her but Eve was to quick, she grabbed his arm, pulling him into her and at a force of a bullet kneed him in between the legs. He dropped to the ground and instinctively curled into a ball. Darkfire Fireteam leader Henry, I knew you were a prick, this is why you don't fight with random fireteams. Eve turned to Akain as she spoke. Some guardians pay other guardians to get them weapons and gear because they don't want to do it themselves. Fireteam Leader Henry, tried to argue back but Eve had kicked the wind from him as well as the respect his men had for him. Eve turned back to the other Guardians. Right, I have plan, so listen up, we charge them in seven minutes, the ground is flat and we won't be at a disadvantage we will attack them with a mix of ground and air assaults. Fireteam Darkfire will be our air support and fireteams Candance, Road Block and Haiku will be our ground forces. A large round black Guardian stood forward, he was arguing with Henry. Excuse me miss, I'm fireteam Candance leader Tyrin, who are fireteam Road Block and Haiku? As though it was on cue, dozens more ships flew in from the distance to land, several of these ships were large and carried tanks which were dropped onto the ground with a sound like far away thunder. Tyrin laughed and his fireteam followed in the laughter. I spoke to Zavala and we are to show the Fallen and Hive back to their caves, with force. Eve commanded everyone. For the next five minutes Eve showed everyone the schematics and assigned everyone roles, Akain couldn't help wonder how experienced Eve was, it was like she had done this many times before. They were all split into fireteams of two, sitting two to a sparrow, one driving, one gunning. Akain was the gunner, Eve the driver. Fireteam Leader Tyrin was leading the ground assault and Henry the air. Tyrin spoke over the open radio, to whoever claims the head of the Kell I will personally give them one hundred thousand glimmer. Akain could hear shouts accepting the challenge, a drumming of those inside the tanks could be heard, like it was a war chant. Tyrin raised a cleaver of a sword in the air, then swung it forward with a deep battle cry. Theirs sparrows, tanks and ships broke into speed at the approaching horde.
