Banned for seemingly no reason.

Case ID: 44397 So last Sunday (20th September) I was banned. I was just starting the third Trials game of the evening with two friends I regularly play with and was suddenly kicked back to the main menu. I tried to log back in and was met with "This account has been banned". I'm a fairly average skill player and I didn't do particularly well in the two Trials games that day, so I feel like being falsely reported couldn't be the cause. I don't cheat or hack and never have. My friends are the same. The only things I had open besides Destiny 2 were Chrome, Steam, Discord and the Xbox app as I'd been playing Dead Cells earlier in the day. I have no idea why I was banned. Does anyone have experience with any automated ban/suspension systems, because I'm left pretty clueless here. I've already submit an appeal via the bans page, but no reply yet. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

  • Hey there! The #Help forums are not able to assist with appeals of restrictions or bans. However, there is a process in place for you to appeal your ban or restriction. If you have sent an appeal already, that is all you are able to do at this point. Please review the Contact Form: Appeal Ban or Restriction article found here. Please note that, as mentioned in the article, there is no guarantee for a response, nor is there a guarantee that your ban or restriction will be overturned. For more information on Bungie's policy regarding bans and restrictions, please review the policy here.

    • you wont get banned without reason, there had to be any kind of Program in the background that the Bungie-Ban-Force had detected.

      • I am one of the friends that has played with Upbeat for years. We are trying to understand how this ban has come to be. We've both stuck 100s of hours into the game together, most of which playing the very same activities. Upbeat had pre-ordered Beyond Light and we are/were very much looking forward to playing D2 for the foreseeable future. Outside of the ban appeal, I'm not sure what else there is to do. Posting on the forums for some exposure is a last ditch attempt in desperation.

        • xbox app? shouldn't cause an issue. nothing else to help in dead cells? no trainers, cheats, macro's, aimbots or anything like that for any other games? bans don't usually happen the same day something is detected or reported, it can take awhile.

Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
Typically, pc bans are due to software detected by Destiny 2 while running. These include but not limited to, trainers, aimbots, auto-fire, mods, graphics hacks, anything that injects code into games, debuggers for programing, even some viruses. any of these could cause a ban, even if not destiny 2 specific. There has also been an increase in bans due to Network Manipulation. These are usually caused by you or a member of your pre-made fireteam doing something... less than honorable behind the scenes of your matches. If it was not you, then it was a member of your team and Bungie has no real way to determine how much or little you knew about the player who was doing it, but it should have been obvious is that something fishy was going on. One of the biggest indicators of network manipulation and the largest red flag to bail out of your team is when your enemy loses 1 or more players in numerous matches. This is the alarm to save your account and bail out of the team If you believe the ban was placed in error, feel free to submit an appeal on this Page. Please read all the info on the page before submitting the form at the bottom. Keep in mind…Bungie rarely will send you a reply unless your ban is overturned. So if more than a few days have passed without a reply, then the answer is no, and the ban will stand. • Since Bans are manually reviewed before being placed, the actual cause of the ban could have been any play session over the past few weeks. • If you received a Weasel error before the ban, this was due to the ban being placed. The game uses the weasel code to remove you from the game world. • Players are responsible for their online account and gaming hardware, and any actions taken in the world of Destiny, and should be careful of who they allow to access their Destiny account. • It is not necessary for a fraud attempt to be successful to get an account lockout. Just trying, whether successful or not, will be punished.
