I have recently been getting a lower FPS in Destiny 2 than expected. I can't pinpoint exactly when this started, but it was recently. I will launch the game and play it. It runs at about 100 frames on average like normal. However, for some reason the frame rate will begin to slow down to 30 frames overtime. At this point, it won't go any higher than 30 unless I stand in a place with no enemies, but even then it runs at 60 frames at most. I don't know what caused this. I have not altered the video settings or changed my computer's specs prior to this. My device should be easily capable of running this game.
PC Specs:
Processor: AMD Ryzen 9 3900X 12-Core Processor 3.80
RAM: 16.0 GB
Video Card: Geforce RTX 2080

For some reason, the frame rate has been fixed. Unfortunately, none of these solutions did anything. However, after the gaurdian games update it was fixed. I have no idea what caused or fixed it, but it's done.

Did you recently update your windows? If so, uninstall ASAP, that latest windows gave me horrible FPS drops and stutters.

There's a glitch that sets a 30fps cap in the game, maybe that's it. It is triggered when, as you launch D2 and it's loading, you ALT-TAB to some other application or back to the desktop.

did the driver on your 2080 get updated recently? if so, see if you can roll it back to the previous version. also, turn vsync on and then off again. also try capping the fps in the options panel, play for a bit then un-cap it again.
