I'm not really shy but I don't like pressure, not one little bit. THAT is what you get raiding with people who complain every time you wipe, etc. So I'm not shy so to speak but I HATE the pressure, so maybe that is a version of shy? In any case, it's why I always wanted match making in this game. I can play, everyone can keep their mouth shut and try to learn and complete the raid, without hearing all the nonsense. It's one of the things that has really hurt this game for me. So many raids I haven't done but it's better than dealing with all that garbage.

  • Yes, very true... Now I'm not perfect but I pick up things pretty fast and to see those who a few mins before who were sighing cause you messed up, star to mess up themselves. I mean honestly, it's why I love the idea of match making for everything. Not to mention, there are raids I don't want to me told how to do. I want to discover them on my own. That is impossible if you don't play it when it first comes out.

  • Hey mate, I’m the founder of a clan focused on being laidback and enjoying the game. We are still human, so we can get a bit annoyed if raids go for hours...which they tend to do with us as we aren’t amazing gamers at all times lol. But we never rage out at each other or anything. We talk a lot of shît but it’s all light hearted for the funsies 😁 We have no requirements, no rules demanding participation in anything...if you want to raid and we have a raid going, you can if you want. Essentially we are just a bunch of randoms who can ask for help/company if needed/wanted. I can send you an invite if you like? No worries if not obviously 😋 You can even just play solo and benefit from the clan engrams if you want to 🤷🏻‍♂️ Lemme know mate 🙃

  • Thanks for the offer man. I'll consider it but if you notice in the link above I've always wanted to discover raids without knowing how to do them. It's like, I want to try it alone first and then if I get too frustrated, then find a group. By alone I mean with a group of other noobs who have never done it before, so we are just leaning. So hard and almost next to impossible when the Raids have been out so long. Thanks again for the offer man, very kind of you. You are one of the good ones.

  • I totally get this. I was raiding the other week and this guy was like: why you doing this or that - do it this way. Don't do that, go here at this point Why you standing there, get over there.. This went on all the way through the GoS. At the end, I lost the plot with him. I've come to realise that raiding on D2 is not fun and not for me. I haven't raided since and won't raid again. I recall in D1 that raids were fun. You had a laugh....D2, nope.

Yeah, not fun like back in the day. People have limited time, I get it. It why for me, match making, if I fail, I wipe, I mess up, I can stop come back later, try again. Easy. Learn at my own pace.

  • destiny community is toxic af. It would help if Bungie designed raids around fun instead of mechanics to challenge the "world first" competitors. Designing the game around the top 1% is killing Destiny.

  • absolutely toxic. I get enough of that toxicity at work. Don't need when I'm chilling playing games

  • alot of toxicity comes from people not preparing for a raid, not having the right weapons or even a clue as to what is going on and then joining a raid that asks KWTD.. not specifically talkng about you however, there is nothing more frustrating than getting an lfg group together and one dude constantly is out of position, wrong weapons, wrong supers and worse.. can't stay alive or kill what he or she needs to with the load out they have. In many cases that toxicity is caused due to the player joining a team they had no business joining.

  • I understand that fella, this was actually worse than this. For example, on the 2nd part where you pick up motes, we were running 5,10,10 etc...I picked up the first 5. Now I have two degrees and a Master Degree. I can fecking count...yet said person who was like a dictator and control freak was insistent I had 4. Thats despite my screen saying 5 and knowing full well that I picked them I pushed on to bank them. This continued until he actually screwed up but then blamed everyone but himself. This crap continued up to the boss, where I simply had enough and very much out of character told him to shut the F'ck up. After this I decided that I now no longer wish to raid. I'm absolutely fed up with the toxicity. I knew what I was doing in the raid, I had several clan mates with me. The main crux is that people need to understand that not everyone does things the exact same way. But even more so, there are ways to speak to people and to be such a d@ck about it.....just put me right off.

Match making would fix that. People would go in, fail and learn. Oh this weapon is better, this power level, this place to stand, etc. There are levels and they should all be used, Match Making, LFG and Clans. There should not be one or two ways. No one learns otherwise. I'm actually still playing and that has to mean something. Not that I find it great but it's always had this potential, so there is still things that are fun and cool and then, they kill it with the grinding nonsense, over complicated stuff and boring guest you have to do all over for with a terrible pay off..

  • You are dreaming. They would go in hoping to get a team to carry them and make it even worse. IF they didn't look at what they were doing before, why would they now learn when the biggest issue is that casual players want the same players, with multiple clears as those elite they always complain about who want the same. Why? because they don't want to have to do much, learn anything etc, they want the clear and they want it fast.

  • Some might... sure but most... are there to learn... Not from someone telling them what to do but figuring it out themselves. Those who raid regularly... will never, ever, never use it. Maybe to go in and tell everyone what they are doing wrong, otherwise they wouldn't. The people who would use match making would be those who have either never finished a raid or not done it at all. That would change the game in the best way. As I've said more times than I can count, it would not affect clans or LFG'er in any way at all.

  • If they wanted to learn they would grab 5 other noobs and learn it. They don’t. They too want experience to tell them what to do and complete it fast.

Back in D one, I could do a few raid areas myself and did. I did Crota's End a bunch of times solo, this is AFTER doing it with a team. Do you have any idea how long it took me to do it solo? A LONG ASS TIME. My first raid was Vault of Glass and I was with a group of people who had done it a bunch of times and it was the most boring experience of my life. Stand here, do this, go here, etc. Oh my god it was boring. That is why after Crota I didn't want to raid with others anymore. THAT is what's killing this game, has since the game launched. If you don't do it when it first comes out, everyone will tell you how and what you are doing wrong. I would rather not... It's like going to see a movie and your friend tells you the whole thing before you sit down to watch it. Screw that. Oh and do you really think it's easy to round up 5 other people who have never done a raid before and never seen a tutorial and all have the same exact time to do a raid? Are you kidding me? Good luck with that.

  • Yes it is easy. Stop crying that you can’t find noobs wanting to raid or that those with experience tell you how to do it.

Sorry, you don't see it but its the truth. It's like the Rat King quest, where you need to go with other rat kingers... That is just as stupid. They keep gating things off and people get annoyed and leave, plain and simple. I'm just a bit more suborn than most. Thick headed you might say. They have pushed far too many people away with this nonsense and it needs to stop.

  • stupid to you because you want to play solo.. so don't play the parts you don't like. Just because you don't like it doesn't mean others don't. and to your point of pushing to many away.. if they had done that, the company would be bankrupt and the game literally closed.. so clearly you are wrong. They are a business and its obviously doing well to BUY themselves out of Activisions contract, publish and develop their own game and continue to do so. The idea is, please leave if you don't like the game.. its ok.. nobody will be hurt if you leave and find a game you enjoy and want to play.. I won't be there.. I will continue to play Destiny because I do enjoy it how it is.. no need for change.. see how that works.. I support you in finding a game you love instead of changing this game to something else, simply go find that something else.

  • Justin, let me put it in context, so maybe you get what I'm saying. It's about choice. Maybe you've heard the saying. "You want to go fast, go alone. You want to go far, go together." THAT is how this should be structured. It's actually more like Activision saw this going nowhere and they wanted out. I doubt they were up for giving up profit. They saw no profit in it. I'm glad you like it the way it is... I don't. This is American where you get to speak your mind, as do I. What a country.

  • Bungie is happy to fund their own game without Activision. Activision was happy to make profit on the sale of the remaining term of the contract. It is all business, Very american.. Bungie will go far, alone and do just fine.
