Here’s the harsh truth that no one wants to admit: Hunters have the highest skill ceiling in the game. A lot of the best pvp players are Hunters, that much is true. But the problem is when you try to take the success of the best pvp players and make a blanket statement that applies to everyone else. “The best pvp players use hunters, therefore hunters are OP” No, that just means those players are good. Look at the rest of the hunters. A good chunk of them are probably of average skill. They can handle themselves in pvp, but they’re not unkillable. And then of course you have hunters who are total bots. Just because you play a hunter doesn’t mean you can press a button and kill someone (cough cough shoulder charge don’t @ me). I know everyone is gonna come flocking to crucify me for saying that hunters require skill. But I won’t deny it. I myself am a hunter main and I hate Crucible. I mean, I wouldn’t say that I’m a bot, but more average. I can handle myself but I also get killed a lot. And I’m not mad about it (not anymore), I just gotta admit that I’m not that good. On the other side of the spectrum, I have a friend, also a hunter main. He’s without a doubt the best pvp player in my entire friend group. He’s got every pinnacle weapon, he’s unbroken, he’s a complete pvp sweat. And I acknowledge that he has way more skill than me in pvp, even though we use the same class. This is honestly how it goes for classes that are more mobility-based: high risk, high reward, lots of room for error if your skills aren’t on point, but if you know what you’re doing, you can use the class to its max potential and yield massive rewards. Thanks for coming to my ted talk. I await my execution. (Edit: I knew I was gonna be hated by everyone for saying this, much like all Hunters are hated and persecuted from every corner of the community)

  • As soon as you said the easiest PVP class in the game had the highest skill ceiling I knew you were wrong.

  • And here I am wondering how I, a hunter main since D1, have yet to ever lay a finger on Legend in comp...if Hunters are the easiest class to play then why am I not Unbroken? I don’t have NF, no Revoker, no Mountaintop, no Randy’s, but I’m a Hunter so by your logic I should have those? In fact, why isn’t every Hunter an Unbroken with hundreds of medals, all the pinnacle weapons, massive KDs, made it to Legend multiple times? To go even further, why are Hunters the most killed class in the game? I mean, they do make up the largest chunk of the population, but if they’re the easiest class then surely they shouldn’t be dying as often as the other classes? How do you explain that?

  • You are just terrible at PVP then. (No offence) I main Warlock and have most of those weapons and have been to 5500 Glory by myself. I have also played Hunter and Titan and can 100% confirm that PVP on a Hunter is easy mode compared to Warlock.

That's okay you are entitled to your opinion. At least mine however is commonly shared by most people who play this game. It's literally common knowledge that Hunters are the easiest PVP class to do well with in the game. Class with the highest skill Ceiling is probably top tree Dawnblade. I can't help it if there are delusional guardians out there that want to ignore stats and common knowledge and say something else. But I am sure as heck going to call them out on it and have a laugh about it.

  • Highest skill ceiling is easily middle solar Titan calm down 😂 Common sense dictates Warlocks are perfectly fine where they are at. Their arc class is one of the best and top tree getting double dash is a huge buff... I can’t help it if thumbless guardians think a class sucks just cause THEY can’t use it well

  • “Commonly shared” What Not sure why you’re suddenly slapping “high skill” on top tree dawnblade because it‘s just been plain bad for the longest time, that’s why it’s getting an update, because who really uses it? Maybe now it’s gonna have a higher skill ceiling to use, but not before, rarely ever had a chance to figure out its skill level because all you would ever see is bottom tree.

  • Sorry you can’t backtrack like that. You said yourself that hunters are easy mode, therefore I should be an Unbroken merely because I play hunter. But I’m not so that doesn’t add up. And no, while I’m not among the best crucible player, you can’t use my low skill to argue that I’m an exception. Because with such a blanket statement like “hunters are easy mode”, that should imply that regardless of skill, all Hunters are automatically the best at everything, and so going by that logic it should be impossible for any hunter to fail at anything, because they’re easy mode apparently. So don’t say hunters are easy mode, but when a hunter main says he’s bad at crucible, don’t try to detract your statement like “well you’re just bad” because you’re just putting holes in your own argument. “Hunters are easy mode but some people are bad at easy mode” doesn’t make a single shred of sense.

  • Weak logic. Not worth my time pointing out all the holes in it.

  • Yours is the one that’s weak since you can’t seem to explain why hunters are supposedly the easiest class to play but yet at the same time, there are hunters who can’t perform well in PvP.

  • Average hunters are more effective than average warlocks and titans tho Guardian gg shows it quite clearly

  • You can't talk about ceiling when you consider average players Try again

  • I happen to be one of those average players with a little over 1.0. I can say with experience that I don’t always beat every Warlock and Titan that I find. Especially because OEM exists. But again, mobility is a valuable asset in PvP, so it’s only natural that the mobility class has more potential to perform well. Doesn’t change the fact that not all Hunters are the same. Just because the best pvp players are hunters, doesn’t mean every hunter is OP. That’s how mobility classes work.

  • Hunters are not hard to play, they might be hard to master But a god tier player warlock needs to be much better in positioning and movement to keep up with a god tier hunter (on console)

  • It can be both: low entry level, because it helps with a lot of tools compared to other classes On the other hand you need to make the best out of those tools While titans and warlocks don't get those tools in high tier gameplay (where ohk aren't relevant)

  • Low entry level can also be said for titans with 3 OHK tracking shoulder charges with massive hitboxes, not to mention a crutch exotic that gives you an advantage for losing a gunfight.
