Solstice of Heroes is an Ad for Eververse

Seriously, every single item added to the event aside from the year 1 armor is paywalled in eververse. This is year 1 dawning all over again. Back then, Barrett acknowledged the scales were tipped too far towards eververse and that even cosmetics from then on would be added to actual game activity reward pools alongside reasonable gameplay paths towards earning bright engrams by playing. Fast forward to today and you can see they are not keeping a single word of theirs: 1. No event engrams. You have to buy most cosmetics with paywalled silver currency through eververse only. 2. From next season onwards, no bright engrams at all, and no bright dust at all from dismantles. You have to buy most cosmetics with paywalled silver currency through eververse only. 3. No event cosmetic reward from any in-game activity. All are paywalled. Next season’s cosmetics will very likely be entirely paywalled as well. The above proves that solstice of heroes and future seasons are nothing more than eververse ads. We know that Bungie is not capable of making a lot of content due to severe incompetence, that is why they pump all of their resources towards eververse. Have you noticed how the only vendor in the game who gets updated every season is Tess everis? How all year 1 planetary vendors and most year 1 gear remain completely useless and abandoned 2 years after the game launched? We need to take a stand now or things will only get worse in the future. Do not pre-order shadowkeep or buy any silver. Voice your opinions and let them know that you are unhappy with the direction the game is headed in.

The weapon ornaments are the only thing that might provide a competitive advantage depending on the gun. The rest of the stuff just looks cool, perfectly normal for paid cosmetics.

From my view I think this season has been about promoting eververse in pretty underhanded ways. 1 - No seasonal engrams, so any new comsmetics for this season can only be obtained with dust or silver 2 - tribute hall, wether or not you waited for max discount, the intent here was to get as many players as possible to spend dust, with ZERO warning that the solstice event would be the most-dust intensice event to date and wouldn't have engrams. 3 - No event engrams, despite previous promises from bungee they would offer routes to this, they have gone back on thier word. 4 - the base event items, the glows, will set you back 15,000 dust alone. Let alone the other cosmetics (I think I counted it up to over 40k worth of items), which is an extortionate price. Give it a season or two and it will just get worse

Revenues from Eververse was meant to be used to improve Destiny. What happened to that idea 🤔 More lies.

      • Bungie wont stop, as long as we have enough idiot guardians who buy every crap Tess throws at them. Its greedy af from bungie, but if some kids would pay me money for pretty much nothing, I wouldn't stop either.

      • I think the biggest flaw is that there is no faith in the game actually improving from EV. Just buying cosmetics so that they can make more pretty much. It's cheap, you aren't supporting the game, you're supporting the system that which brought you what you bought. I'd love to be proven wrong, but when you have this and paid DLC, it seems pretty obvious where the revenue for each goes.

          • A bunch of people always say “ Oh eververse is so trash, micro transaction ness everything up, I’m never buying anything from eververse ever again” but no one thinks about how they split from Activision, and how you can get that stuff for free if there is a seasonal engram, and don’t say “ it’s not good for the game at all” when places like call of duty have loot boxes for dlc guns, stuff like that gives in game advantages, while eververse is purely cosmetic, I don’t think there is anything wrong with eververse, and if you don’t want to buy anything then don’t, and why is it such a big deal about eververse any way, just ignore it and let people spend how they want to spend, at least it’s not something like the catastrophe that happened during y1 with vanilla and CoO, at least be grateful it’s not something required to play

            • What you say can’t be argued. Very disappointed in retrospect with the creativity from Forsaken onwards by the Dev Team. There have been minor flashes of brilliance here and there but nothing that stands out or any activity that you’d play again and again.

                • For a game going F2P, it makes sense they have a cosmetic paywall for dressups. That's how they'll make that extra money. The problem is people getting upset by cosmetic virtual items. Spend the money seeing a psychologist if that's the case.

                  • Yeah but it’s not even a good ad like those surprise Tide-ads with David Harbour. It’s like those ads online when you search for a T.V. series you wanna watch but don’t have Hulu or whatever other subscription service, and you’re trying to click on the video but you get one of those ads that open a new tab and it’s some weird NSFW shit that is borderline porn that say equally weird shit like “customize your dream waifu”, or the dreaded hot singles that always seem to be in your area that are apparently hunting man-meat like the predator. What were we talking about again?

Idk. I haven’t spent money in Eververse since 2014 or 2015s Halloween event when they were selling the light up blue skull helmet. Never felt inclined to buy anything else since then & I’ve acquired everything (ships, sparrows, ghost, shaders, etc) just from engrams alone. Starting September 15th you’ll earn bright dust from just simply playing the game (crucible, gambit, strikes, completing bounties, etc) everything that is sold for silver will be on rotation for bright dust later.... Not sure what you’re going on about but it’s pure silliness. It’s all cosmetic, you were trash before buying anything in that store and you’ll still be trash after. Edit: Pre ordered Shadowkeep a long with the annual pass. You going off complaining on forums about nonsense won’t change how people spend their own money. Worry about yourself, you don’t need to buy anything, you don’t need to play, you don’t need to complain. Just move on to something you enjoy and agree with.

Started the event 8 days ago with 14k dust. So I’ve made roughly 8k bright dust in the past 8 days. And 3 of those days I barely played.
