The question revolves around your feeling RIGHT NOW, without considering that a new DLC is coming soon. I will do another one after the last DLC of this year pass and we can, if you are interested, check the results and compare them with these ones. If you want to give any explanation it's absolutely fine, but remember that this should not be a post about bits of advice on how to improve the game, those things deserve their own posts. Why? I am doing this because I am genuinely curious about where the community stands after this two DLCs and the season pass formula, the nerfs the buff, the decisions the developers made and their communications towards us, the players. But also because more than upvotes a poll is an easy and efficient way to determine a user base approval.
Bungie you are welcome, I guess some valuable information will come out of here, giving you enough insights on your community mood and feeling towards the brand you are developing. It's market research, in this case, it also tangles with userbase satisfaction, approval, experience and mood evaluation. I am asking the community something that in my opinion has been lacking since the launch of this game, on your politics: their honest opinion and transparency on how they feel about your work so far and whether they wish to spend more for your products based on that. Feel free to use this data however you like, if you will ever see this post.
I really didn't like annual pass because it was mostly cheap grind content. What I mean is, take the Black Armory... ghost didn't have any new lines. He stayed mute through the entire thing, so it felt like boring grind filler that wasn't interesting or fun. There was a disconnect without the other characters being more involved. I prefer the DLC model. Sure, it's more expensive, but they include new voice overs and story progression along with the grind which makes it more interesting. Like brother Vance's tablets were grindy but they were part of the whole DLC story, so I had more fun with the whole thing. Annual pass was too... quiet and lonely for lack of a better description. The price reflected that, but I rather spend more and have the adventure done right then skimp out on the voice overs and such. Again, I thought it felt like cheap grind content and I didn't really look forward to doing any of it. Annual pass content felt more like Angry Birds - time waster stuff you could do on your mobile while taking a dump - whereas DLC felt like a video game. I get that it's a bridge between DLCs but I didn't find it fun at all, and in fact, really sucked the magic out of this game for me. I only got it 'cause I didn't want to miss out on anything, but if i had my hindsight choice i rather they just didn't do it and i took a month off or whatever and came back excited and refreshed for a new DLC like you do between seasons of your favorite netflix shows. But you know... eververse... gotta keep 'em playing smh.
