It's hard to compare the two. Sure, they are both looter/shooters, but they feel much different to me. One is more solo focused and the other is a sorta MMO. Borderlands 2 has much more content and feels more immersive, while Destiny is light on content and soley focused on loot.
One area where Borderlands trounces Destiny, hands down, is progression and the power fantasy. You actually feel more powerful as you progress and you can see a difference. Plus, their perks actually work as advertised, not placebos like Destiny has.

well in destiny 1 exotics & perks did actually work, I also feel as if there was alot of progression in D1. However BL trumps it. I still love D1 and it holds a special place in my heart when i was able to play with my older brother more often.

Totally agree. D1 perks actually work. I see no evidence that half of these D2 perks do a damn thing.

I am mainly focusing on D1 not D2 since I wasted $90 for a disappointment
