It's hard to compare the two. Sure, they are both looter/shooters, but they feel much different to me. One is more solo focused and the other is a sorta MMO. Borderlands 2 has much more content and feels more immersive, while Destiny is light on content and soley focused on loot. One area where Borderlands trounces Destiny, hands down, is progression and the power fantasy. You actually feel more powerful as you progress and you can see a difference. Plus, their perks actually work as advertised, not placebos like Destiny has.
