Bungie... Let's talk about Hunters

Why the hunter hate? Here's a brief list of nerfs. - Removed combustion from GG, but gave it to the Warlock and Titan. - GG is the only super that can't kill more than one major and sometimes can't even do that. - Orpheus Rigs were "too powerful" so they get nerfed. The Dire skull of Ahamkara was buffed (which is awesome), but (worst case scenario) taking out the exact same ads with Orpheus Rigs gains 1/2 super while warlock gets full super. - Titan suppression grenade immediately shuts down any super (a grenade), but the Hunter shadow shot takes .5-1 second to shut down a super and it's supposed to be stronger than a nade... -Foe Tracer vs One eyed mask- FT you needed to deal significant damage to enemy combatant to deal extra damage. That was nerfed along with how many people you could track. OEM - If anyone barely deals damage to you, then you immediately gain a powerful buff to kill them and then an overshield. It's great on my Titan, but WTH?! - Wormhusk Crown Was "too powerful" and hunters needed to do getting immediate regen, but that's all it was. A regen, not even immediately full, yet this ability is given to warlocks and titans through various perks and or exotic gear. This is just a brief list. I love the buffs on the warlocks and Titans, but why so many nerfs for the Hunter?

  • Hunter needs to be much more Mobile. In this very vertical meta, height matters, and hunters just don’t cut it. The hunter should feel like it does with STOMP-EE5

  • Honestly, if we just got our throwing knife to be a oneshot-headshot, I'd be fine. At least we'd have to aim that to get the oneshot. Titan shoulder bashes just auto target their field of view. On several occasions, I've jumped above a Titan and their shoulder charge took them straight up into the air from the ground to hit me. It really should be limited to targeting players on the same plane as the Titan. Any ways. Yes if you want to play crucible on easy mode with training wheels, Titan all the way. Not good at aiming? Warlock supers got ya covered.

      • My Forsaken experience as a Hunter Forsaken comes out Looks at new exotics Warlocks: Gauntlets that let them 1 hit grenade people, Firefly Chest piece Titans: Foetracer on Crack, Boots that allow them to block supers just by sliding Hunters: Two dodges -_-

          Spot on analysis, I said something similar however I was met with very little aggreance, mostly due to others not seeing the glaring issues with Hunters, hell some believe Hunters are OP. What still gets me though is that voth Warlocks AND Titans have insta kill abilities besides their super, the handheld supernova, and the infamous shoulder charge, both of which can insta kill you [even] in your super. Found that out the hard way.

        • And somehow the hunter ended up being the class with the rarest resilience and recovery armor stats, but despite almost all armor coming with mobility is still the slowest class by a long shot.

        • Couldn't have said it better myself, bravo, sir. One thing I might add, OHK melee. Titan has shoulder charge, Warlock has handheld supernova, granted it isn't melee but it's still an ability which OHK in close proximity. Furthermore, if Titans or Warlocks don't hit their target with their melee, it regens instantly, Hunters knives are consumed regardless. There's next to no reason to play Hunter anymore, might aswell remove the class from the game entirely.

          • I feel like most of your complaints are kind of just based how you look at things. If I were to compile a list of things titans lost to hunters and warlocks it would be just as long...probably. Them removing combustion was stupid, but they didn't just give it to titans or warlocks. Skull is a lot harder to make use of because it's overall radius isn't the same as tethers and it also doesn't stick around to proc on any new enemies walking through. Titan suppression grenade is definitely a solid grenade, but it's hard to get off any real damage with it in crucible and it doesn't weaken you like the bow does. One eyed mask is certainly a lot better than foe tracker, but it's mechanic is different in that you have to be damaged first for it to proc. Besides that it's better. It also only grants a buff when you kill them and about a 3% damage buff at that. The tracker is really good, the Insta heal and over shields ridiculously good, but the damage boost sucks. Worm husk worked in a similar way that OEM did only it didn't require a kill and you could proc it at any time. In situations where there's cover it was essentially a free "get out of jail" card. In my opinion, the change to a flat heal made it more useful mid combat, but less useful when you aren't being fired at. Similar to he cauterize worked. I would say there are a lot of things hunters need improvement on, but a lot of it is more basic that needs tweaking more than an actual full on buff. In my opinion, every class still has something that needs to be properly tweaked.

              All i see are hunters in crucible !!! They jump everywhere with their shotguns, they dodge away my hand cannon. They smoke my eyes with grenade, they got invisible to stab my back.

            • Orpheus Rigs actually works way better than it did before. You just can't spam it. You need to get some majors in there and BOOM full super.

                  another note is that even though hunters should realistically be the most movement oriented class, we can be overtaken by warlocks and titans (ignoring stompees, havent tested with them and cant be bothered tbh) and we have no movement tech: warlocks have tesseract skating that doesnt require ults (using worldline zeros ability with their jump to achieve speedy speed) titans have titan skating (titan skating is an issue in and of itself) hunters have no movement tech at all, which is stupid because realistically stealth and movement is a hunters job. Another issue with golden gun is that in PVP while you can do a lot of damage, chaos reach lets you do close enough to the same but you have a resilience buff while golden gun gets nada. Throwing knife is a terrible melee ability compared to i dont know... EVERY OTHER MELEE ABILITY FOR TITANS AND WARLOCKS. It doesnt one shot in pvp even on a crit while titans can shoulder bash every 2nd second and thats a guaranteed kill. The only decent melee ability is the smoke bomb in pvp. dodge in PVE is the equivalent to useless, dodge in PVP is fine to be honest, but in PVE it is toppled in every damn way compared to every other class. Another thing about dodge, in way of the wind the final perk is that you're harder to kill in dodge. Hunters are a movement class, they should always be harder to hit while dodging, thats the entire point of their dodge.

                  • Now take a look at the blade barrage. Ridiculously Higher dps than any other super not to mention its explosive. They also have the ability to evade out of attacks and have better mobility maneuvers overall. Hmm... and you call them nerfed? 🤔 Let me ask you, what gets the most used in crucible?

                      Aside from how crutch that wormhusk was, I agree with this list. 6 shooter needs cumbustion so I can go back to it. There’s no reason to use it outside of pvp except when you want to reload really fast. The super can’t kill the orange-ish barred enemies in strikes and nightfalls. Wtf? Explosive knife is so bad. I took a video of it’s dumb explosion not doing any damage. I still have to put that up. Give it incendiary blades or double melee charges. It’s pitiful. Sharpshooter is garbage. Straight up. The only reason to use that is to feel good when you reset melee cooldown.

                      • The hunters keep getting nerfed because of those people that use to run the arcstrider class with antiope graviton and wormhusk. Which fighting a full team of those was not fun in the slightest and everyone plays as a hunter so if more people are catering to one class that makes it pretty obvious that the other classes are kinda weak. PC is the only exception titans are broken there.

They play either titan or hunters cuz of their utility and play making which locks cant really do. Just watching all these youtubers play warlock they REALLY have to try hard just to make plays.

                          • Don’t forget Titan skate, healing rift, hammers. Spectral Blades are literally the worst Super in the game. Also, they never fixed the Hunter Melee hit registration. Only good thing we got was Blade Barrage. Also, isn’t it great that that Titans got a game breaking exotic? The best new exotic for hunters is Galanors.

                            • Can I add "invisibility does nothing in PvE" to the list? How many times I've gone invis only to be tracked while running and shot to death anyway, or enemies to continue to spam my area despite my invis. Hunters roaming supers aren't great in PvP (solid in PvE though), often not being able to one shot enemy supers but being one shot in return, with generally shorter durations. Its really the issue with hunter supers, they are some of the best PvE supers in the game but because of that they are subpar in PvP

                              • Bungie said in D1 that there favorite class was warlock, and you can see it in the game, warlocks have always the best supers in for pvp and pve. Hunter are always the class to get shited on

                              • Watch for Bungie announcing that the ophidia spathe is being nerfed because it's too much fun for the new hunter thousand cuts subclass. They'll probably just remove hunters from the next game, they've done everything they can to make people stop playing them, the only thing they can do is remove the class entirely.
