Returned to the division after a while and..

I’m loving it. They’ve been updating the game since i left which was after the 1st incursion came out. Now i got all DLCs n having a lot of fun but I’m kinda lost n having trouble getting good weapons n gear. I guess i been grinding. Any tips/suggestions or recommendations on what i should do? What weapons are really good? Thanks in advance.

  • Can shotgun AIs still OHK you from stupendous distances in higher tier activities? Still scarred by that. Had to stunlock the -blam!-ers as they spawned or rounded a corner or you were dead in the blink of an eye...

    • The game has been in a good place since Patch 1.8 dropped last fall. Unlike Year One, you can get good gear basically playing any part of the game. In addition to drops there are daily and weekly "bounties" (Challenges) that reward you with "Sealed Caches" that have good gear. Plus there are Global Events (Outbreak just finished up yesterday) where you can earn Classified Gear Sets. Grinding Challenge mode story missions is still the most efficient grind for end game gear. Legendary story missions and incursions are the most efficient for exotics. But you can get just about anything anywhere. So play what you enjoy. What weapons are good depends on what you want to play. PVE? ARs, LMGs, Sniper rifles. Look for HK G36s, M4 (including LVOA-C), M-60s, M5s, etc. PVP? I'm not up to date on. But the game revolves around Gear Sets and builds that leverage the strengths of those gear sets. So you want to decide how you want to play, and then build accordingly. I usually either play a DPS role...or an "LMG-Support" role where I use an LMG for crowd control and do double duty as a team healer. So I typically run a STriker Gear Set when playing as a DPS player.....and a Reclaimer build when I'm playing LMG/Support. If you're a solo player. Striker, Lone Star and Nomad are good sets. If you're into PVP....Striker, Banshee, Nomad, AlphaBridge and Predator's Mark are good sets. If you want to emphasize sill use....then Tactician, Reclaimer, Firecrest. If you want to be a sniper....then Dead Eye, Hunter's Faith or Sentry's Mark.

      • I just started playing Division yesterday. I picked it up on the Ps store for $15. I have to say the I totally suck at it. I'm hoping because I have crap gear is the reason, but I'm thinking its more me....lol I'll watch some noob videos to see what I'm already doing wrong, but I would like to hear about some tips and tricks also.

        • The game has been great since 1.8, glad they didn’t give up on it. Also check out MarcoStyle for more pvp oriented builds, which are also strong in PVE. Cheers

Grind underground. Hunters are fun and challenging, dropping some of the best gear. When the global events roll around grind Lexington event center on challenging to get ridiculous gear. My favorite guns are the house paired with urban mdr

            • Same here. I bought The Division and the Season pass, but left after the first incursion because the game was so damn buggy. Finally bought the game a few weeks back. A little pissed about that because a week or two later it was added to Game Pass which I have. Same thing happened when I repurchased Fallout 4 too. But that's beside the point. Going back, it feels like a new game. I started a new character before returning to my original so I could familiarize myself with the controls. When I went back to my first character, all my old gold gear was now super underpowered and it showed in the DZ. I upgraded gear quick.
