Purchased Destiny One Legendary, game didnt have code, retailer doesn't accept returns, and bundie says go to retailer ??

I purchased the Destiny One Legendary Edition new, yup came late to the show, but wanted to get the D1 full experience, before hitting D2. This was for Xbox One. Anyway, bought the game while out of town for a wedding from walmart, get home and realize the wrapping seemed a bit looser than normal, but I havent bought a disk game for my xbox one in like 2 years and i was excited. Open it up, pop in the disk and get going on the first part, again never played it before had no clue what to expect. I finally get to the part i can see the expansion parts and when I go in it says I have a code to redeem. So i search in case I dropped it in my childish excitement to open, and nope nothing. (The entire processes of opening and loading was in 3sq ft not like I had to check the car and entire house.) So I look on bungie support and do what it said go to retailer, who tells me games that have been opened cant be returned or exchanged, even when i show them the site, and explain everything. So now im still enjoying the initial destiny gameplay. But have no clue how to get the expansion parts of my game? If you cant go to the retailer and you cant go to bungie then how is there any support? I supported Halo from behinning to end, even bought the Masterchief collection to bring the past games to my xbox one s. No love, if anyone knows how to get help, i would be much appreciated. Also. When choosing a faction in D1 whats the main differences, future war ppl, death ppl, etc dont really see the highlights that seperate them.
