Thoughts on weapon slot changes and how they could improve them.

So for starters, bungie did a great step in the right direction. But rather than worrying about what "slot" a weapon is in, litterally just allow every weapon in every slot, but do damage% modifiers for it. That way you dont have to hassle with weapons dropping for different slots, or odd ammo drop rates. Is it a rocket in your primairy? Well it might take 2-3-4 rockets to kill someone. A sniper in your primairy? Its probably gonna take 2-3 headshots, A sword in your primairy? Maybe it might take a light atk and a heavy to kill someone, etc. That way power and energy slots still have a place in the weapon system, but it would allow any weapon in any slot litterally, but the power ammo would be just as powerfull as it is now, and the energy gun would still be great against shields, etc. But it wouldnt overtune or -blam!- with weapon balancing. To keep kinetic non effective against shields, give all weapons an element but just disable it if its placed in the kinetic slot. That way you can swap weapons around easily. If the %damage buff/debuff based on slot doesnt work for you, then just make it based on both weapon type AND slot. This way you could also do things like rock a machinegun in your power slot for a heavier machinegun, same with a handcannon, or SMG. Or a rocket in your primairy for light AOE damage. Etc. The current system bungie is working towards seems okay, but still seems riddled with problems and balancing issues. Not to mention it really -blam!-s with how to balance ammo drop rates/running out of ammo. That way you can run with more of a heavy dmg shotgun in your power, and two lightdmg shotguns in your primairy/secondary and still have the same ideas of any weapon any slot, but not just destroy the game balance/content balance. This way its more of a preferance on what you use. Tripple rocket? Sure, but you might not be able to kill a single target with your energy/primairy rockets, faster than a guy with a machinegun/SMG. Etc. Either way I hope you guys upvote this idea, because I really do think its a brilliant and simple solution that would allow everyone to roll with what they enjoy but not break the game. Plus on the upside it means having more types of fun power weapons to play with. It also means you could possibly put an exotic like sweet bussiness in your power weapon slot, and who doesnt want super powered gattling gun ;) Of course ammo would still be alot more sparce for the heavy slot so its not like you could use it 24/7.
