Rank 50 vanguard no sign of strike catalyst drop
So got to rank 50 today with vanguard (yippy new ship). Did this via mostly heroic strikes (save 1 nightfall and week and a few regular strikes at start of season). I have yet to get or see a strike catalyst drop. Is this the way this should be working, 100s of Strikes and nothing?

Grinding for nothing seems to be where Bungie have gone lately. I've done a silly amount of nodes and no winter wolf as yet. On the other hand, got a shed load of 18 Kelvins.......who's Kelvin anyway?

1 ReplyI don't think rank has anything to do with it. I think people are assuming this because of the faction rally but otherwise rank for vanguard was just to get what is in his inventory.

They are confirmed to be less than 1% chance. So not I'm not surprised. They are not worth the grind unless you are youtube-er that doesn't have a friend's account or an insane collector.

They seen very rare from anything but prestige nightfalls. Someone grinded them all and only had them drop from prestige nightfalls.

Rank 104, and 0 strike catalysts. They said prestige nightfalls have a higher drop chance depending on the difficulty, but it doesn't seem like it.

What i heard as a speculation was, that the drops are based on the kills of a boss, just like the kills for the non-strike specific catalysts like Crimson or Darci. For those i needed something about 500 to 1500 PVE killsto drop for me. (Maybe a bit less, but generally i needed a lot of kills.) So, imagine these numbers for Strike bosses.

While I'm not even close to rank 50 yet, it's still stupid that I'm yet to see a single strike catalyst. Every other exotic I've found dropped its catalyst within a day or two without even trying specifically to get it. Strike catalysts on the other hand, seem to be set not to drop at all. Ever.
