Looking for list of “controversies” ?
Wondering if anyone has a link or something to a comprehensive list of the controversies from the franchise for a project I’m starting. D2 and D1 preferably. I’d just prefer not to have to dig through hundreds of years old google results. Thanks!

1 ReplyIf you're doing something regarding video game controversies, there are two goods ones you could do. The first is the more familiar, it's with regards to loot boxes in games. This one is controversial because it encouraged gambling in gaming. The second one is dated, but very relevant in gaming history. In 1993, senator Joe Lieberman held a meeting to discuss two games, Mortal Combat and Night Trap. One was excessively violent, while the other he felt encouraged violence against women. He demanded that some system be put into place to prevent children from playing games like this, and that's how we got the ESRB rating system.

You should find a better topic. Most of Destiny's "controversies" are non-issues to begin with, & it's still one of the biggest IPs in gaming all these years later in spite of all the whining you see about it online.

when pre ordering d1 and the expansion pass it specifically said there would be to dlc’s with raids included. Somewhere down the road they made an update to the expansion that no longer said two raids. It was some -blam!-ed up shit.

Ooh, that’s gonna take you a while. While certain things like the exp controversy and Curse of the Dawning are still fresh in our minds, you’ll have to actually dig into the community to find things like when players complained for several months on the forums and Reddit about connectivity issues, lag switching and Thorn before Bungie finally took action after the Dames of Destiny Stream. That was a long time ago.

The list is literally endless. I remember when they released SRL n totally broke crucible, I'm talking EVERY player red bar, teleporting, games would start 1v1 or even 2v0, no loot dropped after games, no rep was gained, it was literally pointless (just like D2), and they were radio silent for 7 weeks bcoz it was Xmas break (yes they went totally silent from Dec 5th to january 28th), on their return they blamed everyone playing SRL so it was lack of players, however SRL was only 3 weeks n this continued for 8. Turns out they'd made SRL so strict for SRL that it made finding PvP players in your skill bracket almost impossible. Or the huge TWAB about a sandbox update, buffing auto rifles by 4% to 7% as no one used them. People couldnt wait, patch released, no different. Bungies excuse? The TWAB was wrong, it was a typo and the buff was actually 0.04% and 0.07%, which made zero sense as it didn't change ARs at all n they were still useless.
