I think “folklore” isn’t meant to insult the poster.
I interpret it as many meanings but one word, given the context and history.
I interpret it as
“Sounds awesome, but because the lore of Destiny has now been established as ‘subject to change as we the writers see fit’, I can’t bring myself to invest into the world of Destiny since it’s not guaranteed to be as consistent as possible. However, I’d love to speculate if it was more worth my time.”
It’s more an insult to Bungie as I take it. Deservedly so. Like I hope when any Bungie employees come across “folklore” that they are reminded of their “sins.”

Yeah, you're forgetting that the main body of Bungie don't curate the forums. It's all ninjas and mods that don't directly communicate with Devs. I disagree with your interpretation as well. It really seems malicious, as if to say, "Your post doesn't matter, it's all gonna be retconned anyway, this is a waste of my and everyone's time." If it sounds awesome, and you enjoy the content, why wouldn't you contribute meaningfully instead of dropping one word replies to things that obviously take a lot of effort to put together? I'm saying that you can fail to enjoy a medium without dragging down other peoples' enjoyment of it.

This is never the poster’s fault. It’s all on Bungie. In truth, it is a waste of time as it’s all subject to change, is demonstrated that Bungie has now made themselves unable to be consistent with what they established. In truth, it’s also not a waste of time if you enjoy the genre and themes.
