The sword has a few minor magical properties like the ability to blind a opponent temporarily. Then it some major properties like being able to damage some of the most powerful armor. Rifle http://www.militaryheritage.com/images/doglock02.JPG Roberts got this rifle in the Caribbean when he broke out of jail with only his fingernail, stoped a mass hanging of pirates by challenging the highest rankings British official there to a sword fight(he cheated). Then he took the guys rifle and escaped on a makeshift rowboat made of rum bottles and driftwood. While captured in a British ship he encountered the Flying Dutchman. The ship he was on and it’s crew were easily defeated. In the chaos of the battle Roberts managed to get free and grab the only thing he could find, a dagger. When trying to escape the ship itself he encounters the pirate captain. He was able to battle him long enough to slash him across the face to distract jones then jump overboard and swim away. Roberts is one of the few people to see a kraken and live to tell the tale.
