People are complaining about guardians not turning normal events heroic but I doubt they actually know the drop rates. Hey guys, so I read a comment on drop rate, and decided to do a bunch of public events and record what I received from them to give me a general idea if they were really worth it, and to not post something that's negative on this sub. I did 50 regular and 50 heroic public events. I only recorded the events I successfully completed. I also made it a point to not use a fire-team medallion This is not definitive, and YMMV. So, on to the numbers. TOTAL EVENTS -100 RARE DROP RATE - 120% LEGENDARY DROP RATE - 4% EXOTIC DROP RATE - 4% Breaking it down by type we get REGULAR EVENTS - 50 RARE DROP RATE - 94% LEGENDARY DROP RATE - 8% EXOTIC DROP RATE - 2% HEROIC EVENTS - 50 RARE DROP RATE - 146% LEGENDARY DROP RATE - 0% EXOTIC DROP RATE - 6% I also have one more stat, drop rate of Legendary Engrams I received as a DIRECT result of the grind, I called Incidental Purps. Those dropped at a 21% rate overall. I didn't distinguish which type of event those dropped from. It was interesting to note, that from the actual chests themselves, purples dropped at a lower rate than Exotics in Heroic events. I did not receive any purples from a Heroic event besides my Incidental Purps. There was also 3 chests I opened that only had glimmer in them from regular events, no gear at all. I did not record any events I didn't complete, and there were plenty of those, believe me! So enjoy, and if you guys want me to do 100 more with a fire-team medallion active, let me know. I'm kind of interested to see the difference. EDIT These were done all in the EDZ, and I do have clan perk 3 which increases drops from public events. Honestly not my problem if you're getting tilted. Especially the taken event, not even worth my time to watch random scramble for the heroic just to kill them selves with rockets.
