Bungie and Activision need to make some big changes otherwise D2 is dead.

Let's cut straight to the point here, Bungie and Activision have ruined D2, changing it from the fun, enjoyable game that was Year 2 D1 turning it into a game solely designed to squeeze as much money as they can out of their player base. The fact that everything in the game, from consumable shaders, to the best items being locked behind the bight engram system, to the downright shady practices of throttling XP gains and then doubling the XP required to level up is all designed to make you want to spend real world money on buying silver. The community is clearly showing their discontent with the current state the game is in. Around 80% of the original player base has already quit D2, and more and more are leaving each day. Pretty soon, if things don's seriously change, D2 is going to be as dead as several other games that went the same way (I'm looking at you Battlefront 2 and H1Z1.) I honestly love Bungie, they made my favorite games as a child, and I love destiny and don't want to see it crash and burn, but Bungie has to understand that they are chasing away their dedicated fan base and soon they will have nothing. There are simple changes that Bungie could make to show that they actually do care about the community and not just lining their pockets. First off, make it so that shaders are no longer cosumables, or if that is to much to ask, simply make the shaders available for purchase using glimmer, bring back Eva Levante. Another easy change could be making it so that things like ornaments, ghosts, ships and sparrows can be unlocked through completing things in game as well as being able to be purchased from Eververse, kinda like the ornament for Legend of Acrius that can be obtained through completing a quest. A big one would be to stop focusing on cosmetics and, I know this might be a shocking concept but, *drumroll* add some new content. Seriously, add new weapons, new armor sets, new perks, new PvP maps, new interesting missions, anything other than the current reusing of old assets. Almost every single new exotic added in curse of osiris was either directly ripped from D1 or essentially just a reskin of something from D1. Almost all of the new missions added are repetitive, reuse areas already in the game, and are generally just not fun to play. These are just my thoughts on how Bungie can fix D2 if they actually do care about anything other than money, so feel free to add your own ideas.

  • I feel like curse of osiris was a step in the right direction, but not as big a step as players wanted. I don't really expect any big changes until next summer/winter... I think the first thing bungie needs to do is start being more open, tell us numbers and percentages on these items, put out tweets as soon as they find out about a bug. Engage with us a bit more...and really, the content schedule Activision has them on would be more suited to episodic content, every week or two drop a little content of the ongoing story, change some things around. Maybe one week were fighting cabal on mercury and that weeks story ends in the taken wiping out the cabal, and next week were fighting them.

Alternatively, they could add a meaningful way to acquire silver in-game. By meaningful I don't mean spare change amounts from a loot box once a week either. Cold be an extra award bound to specific content. Even something as cheesy as first completion of weekly things like Nightfall, heroic, etc. Could even bind small amounts to each completion of the top end raid--each time a new raid is released, the reward moves to that new raid. We have seen other games implement alternative currencies like this in the past and it can work quite well. It helps to keep content relevant during end game when player participation slopes off. Yes, it may be a cheesy hamster wheel tactic at times... but it kept us playing when we otherwise wouldn't.

First change, get rid of Activision, they're the greedy bastards that everyone is getting mad at bungie for. Activision is the one ruining the game. Second, let bungie return to microsodt but still sell all on all platforms Lastly, get rid of exclusives, those are also ruining the game.
