Suggested PVP Improvements

So I thought i would make a post to talk about the PVP element of Destiny 2 and quite frankly, and i'm sure most would agree, it needs a mass improvement and i want to keep this as contructive as possible. Currently Right now there are 2 different modes, Quickplay and 'Competitive' and there really isnt any difference between the two options and there isnt any rewards that differentiates between the two either so there is very little incentive for people to play competitive. I also think that the rotating game modes and maps are fine too. It makes things interesting and needs players to be good all PVP aspect rather than just, domination capture the flag or defusion. Suggested improvements In all honesty, quickplay is fine as it is. You jump in and you get what your given. I'd like to think of this like an experimental mode where non-hardcore PvPers can just enjoys shooting other people and the PvPers to experiement with builds and weapons. Rewards can be given to quick play, with more chance of rare drops and low chance of Legendaries. The competitive mode really needs the following to be added: Seasons Bungie has already annouced that there are seasons in Destiny 2, and this would work well with PVP. with each season giving players a time limit to reach the top of the table. Ranking/ Ladder For competitive to be competitive, some sort of ladder needs to be implemented. It doesnt have to be vastly complicated, but some sort of table listing the following stats: Position: The position of the player within the ladder. Class: Titan, Warlock, Hunter Subclass: The Subclasses of the above that has been used the most. Wins : Number of total wins Losses : Number of total losses Total kills: Amount of kill the player has acheived. You could even seperate this between Ranged and Melee kills. Total Assist: Amount of Assist the player has acheived Totals Deaths: How many times the player has died Total Objectives: How many times a person has planted a bomb, defused a bomb, captured a point, collected an emblem. (This would be useful to see how much of a team player they are. They might be terrible at kills, but wins games by thinking objectively.) You can take these stats and produce some sort of weigting to classify a persons skill. As a simple example - Wins divided by losses = Points per game - Add the points at the end of the game to the players total score to calculate where they appear in ranking/ladder The Table should be sortable via 2 options. Class and then just a Ascending/ Descending sort feature above each column. Divisions (i.e. Ranking system expanded) Having played multiple PvP games, you can expand the table by including division. The division can list everyone ranked at that level which is calcuated from the point system suggested above. Again for the sake of simplicity have the following division: Division 1: This would list the top player that have a scored of 81-x points Division 2: This would list the players between 61-80 points Division 3: Players with 41-60 points Division 4: Player 21-40 Points Division 5: Players With 0 - 20 points People that reach say the last 10 points of the division would need to complete a Promotions series where they would have to win at least 2 out of 3 games to proceed to the next division. Players that do win the 2/3 would fail, or you can be really forgiving and say, if they came TOP in each of their games they would still get promoted, or if they came 2nd, they would get a free win in their promos next time. You could even do it on the opposite end of the scale and have a Demotion series and if a person in the bottom 10 points of the bracket loses 3 games in a row, they would get demoted or if they came top in their 3 games, they would stay in the division they are in. Seasons Bungie has already announced that seasons are going to be a thing in D2, and this ties in very well with PvP as is gives a sense of urgency for players to move up the ladder, rather than a "ill get there at some point" mentality. This also would be a good stopping point to dstribute rewards, which leads me on to the next point. Rewards Obviously there needs to be an incentive to playing competitive and they would be anything, but obviously the higher you are the better the reward. Again a simple example of rewards would be: Division 5: Bronze emblem Division 4: Silver emblem and unique Shader Division 3: Gold Emblem, Shader and New faster Vehicle, Division 2: Platinum Emblem, Shader, New ship, Vehicle and unique "Non-game breaking" Legendary weapon choice Division 1: Diamond Emblem, Shader, New Ship, Vehicle, Choice of 'Non-game breaking" exotic weapon choice (Kenetic, Energy, Heavy) AND 'non game breaking' Legendary Armour set for that class. Weapon Rewards can be rotated between each season. For example Autorifles in Season 1, Hand cannon season 2, etc This is a MUST and that is Aim Assist needs to be turned of for PC so everyone is on a level playing field. Thats my thoughts. If anyone has any other suggested, feel free to discuss them below. Dont forget to to bring this attention to Bungie if you feel this is a good idea. EDIT: In addtion to the above there should be 2 sperate Queue. Fireteam and Solo Q, this would remove the solo stomping by a more organised team.
