Strict Nat, Unplayable at Times

Playing D2 (trying to, at least) on PC using a TP-Link TLWR841N (self professed as "pure NAT") router. - I've tried UPnP; no dice. - I've tried disabling UPnP and forwarding all of the many ports; snakeyes. - I've even tried removing everything else from my router/modem and connecting nothing but my PC directly to it via ethernet, and still my D20 roll comes up with a big. fat. zero. I managed to struggle through and level my main to power 255, but seeing as end game is pretty much unplayable with disconnection issues as they are (and seeing as I feel like there's really not that much on offer just yet anyway) I guess I'll just mosey on back to Warframe and call it a day. My main complaint would have to be that a major game studio, or studios (not sure how much of this is on Act/Bliz) has managed to build a huge triple-A game with a staff of ~750 and charge out the yinyang (never should have bought that damn season pass) and break it so badly because they're worried about cheaters, while an independent studio of ~150 can make a massive, deep, and rewarding game that I can actually play (and listen up Bunj, cuz this is the important part) FOR FREE. Gotta figure that they're doing at least something wrong, eh? If you manage to figure out that you should at least give the option to route traffic manually, or back way up on the network security, I'll be listening. Until then, I'm gonna go play a game that's there to be, y'know, enjoyed. And yes, I'm pitching Warframe on a Destiny forum, that's how I feel. Tragic, I know.

  • FYI the last Weasel/Guitar fix was part of this issue that has been partially resolved.. The most stupid thing is my house-mate who plays on the exact same network has 0 issues though he's on PS4 and I'm on PC... I got my power lvl 265 + etc but thats because the one time I get lucky and I have no weasel error for 1 hr + straight and the other time it keeps disconnecting in the middle of strikes in the middle of a public event and all that stuff... I can tell you that most of the issue lays with their server formatting as they don't have a "dedicated" server for their game meaning you connect through a set ammount of "portals" and even if you ahve your ports open for every single one of them it doesn't always turn out well for whichever illogical reason. For some people its a ISP issue with Bungie and for others its just a simple thing that has to do with your own networking setup. Most people fall into the ISP issue category meaning there is nothing you can do until Bungie resolves the randomized issue that is caused by their weird and incapatible setup how they wish to run Destiny as a whole... This is just a whole bunch of madness and its just to hope that they fix it before the first expansion launch. TL;DR Bungie doesn't want to run normal dedicated servers to keep their games up because its more expensive so they chose to let people suffer instead of spending some more money to get better quality for their consumers money. Added to the fact NAT would never restrict your capability to play unless you have ports specificly BLOCKED as a specific setting which basicly no one has.
