I Think Bungie Doesn't Know How To Double Framerate (i.e. Dark Souls 2)
So everyone is excited about the PC release right? Right?!?!? Riigght....No? Everyone's not excited because it's still the same game without an endgame just prettier which was what Destiny 2 already was compared to Destiny 1? I kid I kid.
No but seriously DigitalFoundry put out their latest video on Destiny 2 on the PC version and just like all the critics so far fell hand over fist in praising just how amazing Bungie are at their jobs and how great this port is and just wow guys you know? You should totally buy this version cause it's impossible to go back and play your crappy PS4 or Xbox versions after even looking at the PC version. If I didn't know any better it sounds like they are reading copy from Luke Smith.
Sorry I'm getting carried away and that's not my point. My point is when watching the video I noticed something really weird and it especially stood out to me when they started comparing the two versions. I've watched nearly every DF video and own both a top of the line PC (at east when a 4GB 680 could be considered top of the line) and a PS4 so I know the difference 60fps can make vs 30fps. It smooths out the gameplay tremendously. That's not what is happening here.
It looks like either they manipulated their footage (which I would never think they would do that) or Bungie screwed up in it's implementation. Kinda like how you had your equipment wear down faster on the PC version of Dark Souls 2 because it was tied to the framerate. If you go to the video you will see that certain elements appear to be on fast forward compared to the PS4 version, however if you go from watching the PC feed to the PS4 it looks like PS4 is on slow-mo (dont' do this remember that PS4 is baseline).
There are other sections too that are an issue like certain enemies that are just way faster like the dogs. That's not how that works, that's now how any of this works. Maybe I'm just seeing things but it definitely looks off to me and hopefully they can roll out a patch if so.
