Bit of advice for Levelling up nicely

NOTICE: If you're already past 265 Light then ignore this post, it probably won't help. It may if you get over 280, but I'm still testing that theory. If you're still here, let me help you out. You see, at around 265 Light, Legendary Engrams stop having their basic Light Value increased until you reach 271 (So between Light 265 and 270, Legendary Engrams will all drop at 265). This can be issue. Don't worry though, if you haven't reached this yet, you're in luck. And the further from 265 you are, the easier this will be. You may have noticed that some of your Pre-265 Engrams have dropped loot exactly 5 Light Levels above what the Engram said it was, or your quest reward is 5 Power higher than when you got it off the Vendor. This, oh reader, is the wonder of Legendary Mods. Not only do they give the effect of a Rare Mod, but they increase the Power of the equipment they're on by 5. How does this help you level up? Let me explain some magic. That bonus 5? That only affects Loot drops and your overall Light. It's not the equipment's real Light Level, so here's where the trick comes in. Say you've just done the Strikes milestone and unlocked the Nightfall Strike AND gotten yourself a nice new legendary gun at 245 (Hypothetically, I'm not sure if there's a set drop value). In your inventory, it now says 250 though. That gun's actual light is 5 levels lower than it says, but it will still cause you to get new loot at 250 thanks to that Legendary Mod. Now, you play a bit more and get a 250 Light Legendary gun without a Legendary Mod on it. You may think that your fake 250 weapon and this new real 250 are equal. NOPE. That real 250 Auto Rifle can be used to make that fake 250 Auto Rifle better. You see, the real light value is used for infusing, so the 250 Legendary with a Rare Mod is infused into the 245 Legendary with a Legendary Mod. The result is an Auto Rifle that counts as 255 Light for your Loot Drops and Overall Light, but only counts as 250 for infusing. Get items of the same Light value as shown in your inventory, and infuse them into your stuff that has those Legendary Mods to progress with a bit more ease. If you can explain this better (I know I haven't made a lot of sense), please make a new post and spread the word. The 265+ grind is annoying as is, but the more we learn and share the inner workings of the new system the quicker we can all ascend.
