It's an electric guitar. I hit the strings with a piece of plastic called a pick and they vibrate at different frequencies based on the gauge of the string. Since it is an electric guitar, it has to be hooked up to an amp to produce a louder sound. I then press my fingers on the fretboard at different frets to make different notes. Combining these different notes can make melodies and rhythms, which can eventually be turned into songs. Songs are often used to express emotions, and tell stories through sound. They can be sad, happy, angry, political, thoughtful, philosophical, and much, much more. They can also be super simple or very complex, depending on the feel you're going for on a particular song. Putting a bunch of songs together into a list can then be sold as an album. Albums are made by artists who have made anywhere from one to 20 songs. After an album is released, it is quite normal for that artist to go on a tour, where they perform their songs live for an audience. These tours usually take place all over countries, and sometimes even travelling to different countries, if the artist is big enough.
