About Vault Space...

Hello, The majority of the Destiny community wants increased vault space. And don't get me wrong, I do as well. But let us look into the future. "Destiny 2" is supposedly coming out this year. So will they really take the time for vault space improvement? They stated that none of your gear from the original Destiny will carry over. So are they possible looking at this problem as an "isn't relevant" standpoint? If so, we're all out of luck. I don't work at Bungie, but how hard can a vault space improvement be? P.S. Like this if you agree. This has been a trending problem for a while. Hopefully, this puts people at ease, peace guardians.

  • The problem is that bungie promised us an increase in vault space but said "it won't be ready in time for rise of iron" so what happened? How can you keep giving us shit without the space to keep it. Even going as far as giving us a collectors page in the new record book. WTF bungie!

  • I get it. Bungie doesn't do anything for the majority of the community, they have done many things for a few streamers. I guess the community just need to come to term with that and let things go.

  • I agree with you about how Bungie should most certainly look forward and make sure Destiny 2 will never have any storage issues like we currently have. However, i have to say this even though it will have no bearing on the decision already made by Bungie but as a company they should NEVER put so much emphasis in creating a sequel and making it absolutely perfect that they neglect certain things in the current installment of the game. That's not going to give incentive to any recurring or new player to play the next version. I have made several post about this issue and commented on a few as well but out of all the plea's for more space, it was all for nothing. We have done all we can do as a community to get some relief in this area but only can we look to how they will implement changes to keep from this ever happening again. I do not consider wanting to collect all Raid Armor Sets/Weapons, No longer obtainable class items, and 1 or 2 weapons from the first few days of destiny being justification as a Hoarder. That's just common practice in a Loot based game. Sorry for the long message but you made good points and i wish Bungie would reconsider but if nothing changes, i just hope we never have this discussion again in regards to Destiny 2!

  • Bungie has earned zero trust and credibility with me Latest lie on Vault Space: Direct quote by Senior Producer Scott Taylor on the lead up to ROI launch regarding vault space: “Not on day one.” Continuing, he adds, “If I open my phone right now, we’re working on solutions that make that a good experience… We’re working on it. Not only did they not give use more vault space, they allocated development resources for creating a kiosk to facilitate silver dust and ornaments microtransactions as well as a holiday kiosk for the same reason. Meanwhile, we get all these consumables through microtransactions and Bungie PURPOSELY gives us no quick way to discard them to conserve vault space. You know why? Because they want us to use them so that people will see us in the tower to help promote microtransactions for them. Older lies: Auto Rifle buff (0.04%) We're not using SBMM We're not using SBMM We're not using SBMM We're not using SBMM Ok, we're using SBMM We're fixing SBMM We're fixing SBMM We're fixing SBMM We're fixing SBMM Comitatus is not bugged Damage Referee Mercy Rule We know you value your gear, you'll be able to take them forward We're fixing SBMM We're banning people Bungie lies that will make you laugh: Playable terrain (check at the 2 mins mark): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BTfhrONAp-c Checking the playable terrain: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V9YoJjdEBv8

    • Maybe this is a sign that D2 will move away from being a loot based shooter, considering how they (Bungie) have refused to increase vault space.

        • They'd better, because if they keep this super-sekrit bullshit up, I'm not buying Destiny 2. All they had to do was give a straight answer at the outset, not eight months of bullshit.

            • The exotic weapons and armor vending machine should be modified to allow you to pull out a 400 light level item with the full perk tree unlocked if you have already upgraded that exotic item previously. Also ornaments that were unlocked would need to come with it. Bungie is considering the kiosk part of the 'storage solution' but im not willing to dismantle some of my exotics if i have to start over upgrading them on repurchase. This promotes me keeping all exotics in my vault that i can fit and also promotes me keeping max light legendaries in my vault with garbage perk rolls so that if I do need to pull an exotic out of the vending machine I have something available to sacrifice to upgrade it with. I understand there is some reason bungie doesnt want to expand the vault but if you could at least make this change it would allow me to better utilize my existing vault space.

            • Do they not realize how bad this is making Destiny 2 look by making it seem like getting gear is pointless if there's no room to store it and you have to delete everything over and over again?

            • tbh I'm just glad we finally have an answer. I went from posting that I wanted vault space to simply posting for a yes or no. Now I can open all of those dawning treasures, radiant treasures, and probably discard all of my year one gear (except for tireless striders).

                • The vault thing is so laughable. I have a Diablo type game on my SEGA DREAMCAST from the 90ties "Record of Lodoss War", that is able to store a virtually unlimited amount of loot! Ok, our loot is stored on Bungies server, but the amount of space is negligible in times when Petabytes become a common thing.

                • In a years time, you'll most probably never play Destiny 1 again, because Destiny 2 will be better! So, just dismantle all the stuff you hardly ever use and you'll have plenty of Vault space to collect more things that you'll most probably never use again in a years time!

                  • No vault space is a huge letdown. I have three characters and armor for all three with gear from the base game and all DLC's. My weapons I can deal with but the armor space needs increased.

You should know by now, bunige hates to speak, but hates to keep their word. D2 will be the same shit fr another 3 years. Fin Bitches

I guess I get vault space complaints to a certain extent, but whatever magic number is good for you will still be too small for someone else. Whether you are happy with the current vault size or not, the fact is Bungie has increased vault space several times and offered multiple kiosk solutions for freeing up vault space. Regardless of how big they make the vault, there will always be someone not happy with vault space. I always had the idea that Destiny was more about creating the perfect load-out rather than just collecting stuff. You play for a chance to replace gear with something better. Grinding for loot was about quality not quantity. Not to sound over nostalgic, but I feel like a lot of that was left behind in year one. Back then, legendary gear wasn't super easy to get and exotics tended to be very difficult. Remember back when you would get excited about Xur and people were accused of "Xurning" their exotics? As far as I remember (correct me if I'm wrong), this is the history of vault space increases and kiosks: September 2014 (Release) - 20 weapons, 20 armor pieces and 20 general items April 2015 - Vault Space increased to 24 armor, 36 weapons and 24 general items September 2015 (TTK) - Vault size increased 72 weapons, 72 armor and 36 general items. Shader, Emblem, Ship, Sparrow, Exotic Weapon and Armor kiosks added. April 2016 - Vault size increased to 108 weapons, 108 armor and 72 general items. October 2016 - Holiday and Silver Dust kiosks added
