Everyone enjoying their new sidearms? So with this new patch, Bungie has attempted to balance what they think is wrong with Special ammo. Making sidearms the most convenient special to use since you don't lose the ammo on death. This new update still hasn't fixed special at all though. Teams can still control the map and therefore control all special on the map, keeping the other team drained and at a disadvantage. I have one small fix to make the crucible more fair when it comes to special weapons. SPAWN AMMO STRIAGHT INTO ALL PLAYER'S RESERVES! That's right no more crates! No more fighting over crates, and a final stop to being drained of ammo. This will make it fair when teams have map control/ special control, since everyone will have the same amount of ammo every time special spawns. I'm going to finish this by saying this game grew on shotguns, snipers and fusions. Some one you may hate being "slide shot-gunned" or "spawn sniped", but that's Destiny. Keep this game near its roots and STOP FORCING SIDE ARMS ONTO US. WE WILL CHOOSE SIDE ARMS WHEN WE WANT TO OR WHEN WE USE NO LAND BEYOND AT LEAST! Don't make it part of the meta because side arms are still good on their own. (NOTE: I've hated the crate system from the start, I'm against that mostly. Also when voting, I only mean last patch as in just special ammo, none of the other changes)

    • special ammo is quite abundant as it is. God forbid that if you die you have to use your primary for at maximum 1 minute lol sheesh. give me a break. LEARN TO USE A PRIMARY. I'm actually glad that the crucible is more than a bunch of apes trying to give you matador enemas every 15 seconds, makes it alot easier to play when you don't have to assume every radar blip is some thumbless shotgunner.

      • Keep special ammo after death, spawn special twice as slow as pre-patch so you have to be more selective of when you use it. It will still promote primary play and if you do pump out all your special asap, you have no choice but to primary for a while.

          I agree with loosing half upon death but not loosing all special ammo. Feels unfair for non-sidearm user (I use I sidearm)

          • I don't do much in the way when it comes to pvp other then iron banner but even myself can see that this patch is not good for pvp. & a another thing the truth rocket launcher did not need to be nerf

                back to normal (same with the special boxes) the special box give you max 2. (for sidearms one clip) then making a special box balancing because for example, on blindwatch the special positions are unbalanced pantheon is balanced and and and more primary buffs

              • To be honest side arms almost can't really do much at a distance and in general they are pretty inaccurate sometimes. Everyone I see running side arms tries to use them at medium/close range and usually get obliterated. Sure it's not shotgun close but what next? Want them to nerf side arms? I swear no matter what they do they can't make you people happy. Reduce how much side arms spawn with, done. Special also spawns every MINUTE so how can you be hurting for special? The best part about people using side arms, is that they won't usually need to pick up special so it's yours for the taking. Personally I think side arms are annoying, but I prefer them over camping/rushing shotgunners any day. Also, watch out for warlocks using angel of light.

              • Possible solution: bungo get your heads out of your asses and let people who actually play this game decide what needs to be done because you obviously can't do so yourselves. They chose the easy way out to just lose special upon death, not thinking about this just catering towards everyone using sidearm's. The so called "surgical changes to primary weapons" are nowhere to be found.

              • Possible Suggestions 1. On respawn, maybe have one full clip with zero reserves instead of completely zero ammo (For Shotguns, Fusions and Snipers) While Sidearms remain the same. 2. Change how Sidearm ammo works. On respawn start with zero, killing enemies with Primaries will drop Green Ammo and this only works for Sidearms. Shotguns, Fusions and Snipers remains the same. 3. Nerf Sidearms. No joke. Alot of people are whining and it's bound to happen. F[u]u[/u]ck it. Look, I get it. It is unfair that Sidearms spawn with ammo. But it's not that much of an advantage. It's like having a pocket pistol for whenever someone gets too close or you run out of ammo. It's the only special that doesn't have a One Snipe/Voop/Shot, One Kill capability. So, chill people...

                • Just no. Im really enjoying 6v6 since a long time. There are so many primary battles. Special is spawning in every 60secs which still gives you lots of opportunities to use a special weapon other than sidearms. Even if sidearms are going to be meta - its better than all those matador apes running around. Speaking of which - i cant recall the last shotty warrior ive seen. Lovely. The only thing they have to change is elimination mode. Maybe you really should start with a really small portion of special ammo each round. Lets say 3 shots maybe?

                  • I think sidearms should have the same penalty but, I do like the idea of losing ammo on death. Reminds me of my halo days and having to fight for a sniper. I kinda like the way the game is going. Too many people would go an entire map only playing with special weapons. That is just my opinion, though.
