Knowing people that got it a few weeks ago and reading a forum/wiki post of people saying they got it a few weeks ago to troll others that believe them are two different things. There's been quite a few 'Why haven't I gotten this emblem yet?!' posts on the forums lately concerning this one and the one for verifying your email. In both instances, those rewards were given out in Y1 as promotions for the release of Destiny and for the email verification. Rewards for those are not retroactive, they were available once, and then no more. The one you're asking about for 4/6 games was sent out at Destiny's release and shortly thereafter; if the proper accounts were not linked at the time showing 4 games played, then you won't be receiving the emblem, regardless of how many people tell you that they managed to snag it recently when they didn't have it before.
