Since the nerf on February 2015 auto rifles aren't in a good spot and the nerf in late 2014 to the headshot multiplier was the worst thing you've patched ever in destiny... just because your stats show that auto rifles are the most used guns (look at the stats on some websites like guardian.gg or something) in destinys pvp it doesn't mean it is true... only the blueberries/noobs use them and that's a lot of players... everyone wants you to buff auto rifles but you never buff them... since the nerf on February 2015 they aren't in the meta and no one who is good at this game uses them.
My solution:
1: Increase the headshot multiplier to 1.50 (now 1.25) because you aren't punished if you shoot at the body
2: Buff the base damage.
If you agree comment bump and your opinion!
all other weapons in destiny have a 1.50 multiplier and Autos only in the alpha, beta and 1 month in destinys lifecycle. And buff the doctrine again... I got it yesterday again with god roll perks and I got 8 wins in trials with it but I rarely got kills with it because it is too weak... the doctrine archetype weapons do no damage. (Even tho they nerfed only one damage point) do you see this archetype in the crucible? No they are trash AGAIN.

Edited by Terraain: 1/5/2017 8:30:30 AMI love Auto Rifles the most and I want Bungie to buff them because when I hopping into the crucible and using my Auto Rifle the mighty Hand Cannon Gods descended on my poor soul.

I use my Paleocontact auto rifle all the time in crucible, literally has 0 recoil, and has good range to be able to keep a steady stream off precise bullets on a sniper. Buff autos and this auto will be OP.

Edited by iDovahBear: 12/20/2016 10:09:00 PMAlso, the Doctrine archetype got a double nerf if I'm not mistaken. The first pass over it was by 1 damage to make landing headshots and being at intended range a more baseline requirement, but not cripple the weapon. Then I believe it was anywhere from a 2% to 5% nerf or greater not too long after that initial nerf, this happened right around the time of the April Update or the patches just before or after, if I remember correctly. Doctrine archetype is weak because they kept doubling up on nerfs. It wasn't just a nerf to its damage, but crippling its accuracy at the same time is always going to force a huge strain on this archetype of weapon.

Edited by Soul_Eater_42: 12/20/2016 5:55:33 PMI would increase them to 1.4x precision multiplier, not 1.5x. That's too much. And no base damage increase. The increase to precision damage would be enough.

Edited by RavenousLD3341: 12/19/2016 7:19:55 PMYou know there's basically only 3 auto rifles. Their Time To Kill going to fastest RoF to slowest RoF is.... .87sec head shots 1.07 Body shots (this is DoP) .90sec head shots 1.20 Body shots .93sec head shots 1.20 body shots (this is answering chord) They are the most consistent weapons in the game. I disagree with your opinion, and would highly suggest looking to other weapon types for changes, and personally.... i believe that primary weapon TTK should be closer to .5sec across the board. When compared to other weapons in the crucible.... Autos are inline with most primary TTK. In-fact everyone's precious Clever Dragon has a headshot TTK of .80 sec and body shot TTK of 1.33 sec. So... DoP can compete with clever dragon, but you'll need to drastically close the gap. Also, increasing the base damage and headshot multiplier will drastically reduce the TTK of the autorifles as a whole, probably too much. Edited by blade329: 12/20/2016 12:17:18 AMI don't even use auto rifles anymore, except Monte Carlo. I just don't like how they feel. Considering how many hits you need to bring down a shielded guardian, it feels pointless. I can't tell you how many times I've had enemies get away because it just took too many bullets to kill them. The Unbent Tree archetype might be a different story, but I haven't tried it in PvP yet. In PvE it's awesome.

Edited by FreakingElite09: 12/20/2016 1:15:20 PMYea. Totally agree with precision damage buff.

Genesis Chain is pretty good in PvP. I'm far from the elite in PvP but given the right map that thing is a beast. At least it has been in my experience.

Edited by Skrim: 12/20/2016 2:21:15 AMAutos shouldn't have a spot (or be the meta) in competitive play.
-
They're too pussies to buff anything, they only know how to nerf
-
Only the low rate of fire ones need help. The bullet hoses are still pretty amazing. They can bear Clever Dragons with some consistency head to head.
-
My the unbent tree is great to use. But I hate using any other archetype.
-
The headshot multiplier shouldn't have needed to change from OG Year 1, I agree.

Bump.

No shit! My Khovostov 7G-0X just doesn't cut it in pvp. I love that gun too. No wonder no one uses it inn crucible. I tried every combination and just had a hard time getting kills. 900rpm and max stability was pretty much the best combo, i mean for me. I used to love my Suros regime and kick ass, now i don't even use that. Seems like pulse and scout are the Best option for me. I don't think it should be that way. Shit just doesn't seen balanced. Idk, maybe it's just me but i agree with you 100%

A few websites track the kill counts of all weapon types. Scout rifles actually come in below all other primaries, melees, grenades, supers, sniper rifles, shotguns, and only come in above the three heavy classes, sidearms, and more or less tie with fusion rifles. I won't deny that autorifles could use with some buffs. But scout rifles define noncompetitive in that most players will respond to statements that they aren't competitive in PVP by stating that they are intended for use in PVE. So the argument is literally "you shouldn't be using scout rifles in pvp at all" You honestly cannot get more noncompetitive than "You're using the weapon type wrong by even equipping it in this part of the game"
