Stop pandering to the PvP fanbase!

Since day one Bungie's concerns have been prioritized with keeping the PvP players happy. What about those of us who favor PvE? I wish I could indulge myself into the story, but there is none. The PvP aspect has not only stopped them progression of the story (due to it nit being a priority) but also effects how guns work in PvE. I know Destiny's life span is at an end so what I propose applies to Destiny 2. 1) have dedicated developers for PvE and PvP aspects of the game (because it is not one huge world, it is separated and should be treated as such) 2) have balances in PvP not effect PvE so we (the PvE players) are not screwed over due to an unbalanced PvP 3) finally, put lore in game, through a library of some sort. I despise the PvP but constantly find myself being forced to play it due to lack of content, so I stopped. I've stopped playing Destiny and won't be back until I've seen major improvements to the PvE aspects. Other games are based solely around PvP so have something with so much potential as Destiny not be one of those games. Edit- all of you seem to be mistaken or new players. Since before release Destiny was advertised in the format of "becoming legend" and "fighting back the forces of the darkness". Destiny has always had the spotlight on its PvE aspects when it's advertised. The PvP is killing Destiny faster then it's keeping it alive. Destiny was always and has always been advertised to appeal to the story side. Watch the trailers and most are heavy on the "new story missions" and "the new raid/any OvE content". The only reason why PvP is as popular as it is right now is due to twitch streamers banking off of twelve year olds who have nothing better to do. Don't start thinking that Bungie cares any more then the bare minimum about PvP, because they don't. Destiny is a overall failure as a game (from a development point of view) and should have had more time behind it. As I stated I stopped playing Destiny recently and won't cone back unless the "live events" are spectacular (which I doubt) and if (and only if) Destiny 2 is better then: Halo CE, Halo 2, Halo 3, ODST, and Reach combined. Bungie lost all credibility with over half its fanbase, and that's just those who got to experience Halo. Bungie has allot to do and if they ever want to get back into good favor with its fans and potential fans they had better step up. Everything you just read is wildly supported, just take the time to look it up. No hate you throw my way will stop, or hinder, our protests and complaints about this game. Give me all you got because nothing you do will drown out our collective voices, and our wallets.

Bump. Weapon changes for the sake of pvp will hurt pve, which sucks for Destiny. Until House of Wolves I kinda thought Destiny was a PvE game... but yeah, lowering weapon damage, removal of perks, lowering ammo capacity, all really negatively effect PvE. Having fun with that sniper/shotgun in the raid? Well since the patch last year you have basically half the ammo available. Enjoying that shotgun in a strike? Well now its range perk is completely removed, and you can't use it without getting close enough to the boss to get killed in one melee hit. Thanks for that stupid PvP weapon patch hurting PvE. The worst is with things like Mythoclast and Necrocasm. Weapons that are supposed to be the strongest possible guns to fight in the battle against darkness, Mythoclast nerfed to death and Necrocasm made a wet noodle, so they are fair for PvP use, but f**king them over in PvE. Oh well, I'll just replay Mass Effect when I want a real PvE epic space age game, and enjoy Destiny for what it is. Still a great game.

      • Pvp keeps the game alive, how many times can you do the raid and not be bored, pvp such as trials is what makes destiny playable for long periods of time between content updates

      • Being a pvp and pve player I think you should grow a pair honesty if you seen the stuff pvp player go through you would understand and because pve is easy you shouldn't be complaining it doesn't affect it that hard

          • PvE will always be easy, balancing isn't needed much for it, needs that hit it help make the game harder seems good to me

          • When has something that has been needed in PvP ever significantly affected something in PvE? I play both a lot, and I've never been "screwed over" in PvE...

          • I stopped playing due to the focus on pvp. All the nerfs to pve for pvp reasons no matter how hard we begged them to stop. So I left it behind.

          • They have always pandered to the pvp at the expense of everything else including story. In destiny 2 the code had better be better so that a Nerf applied to pvp DOES NOT AFFECT pve.

          • Pvp is the real end game and we are the thing that will always be playing even when pve dries up. And keep this in mind. Every dlc destiny gets is focused mostly on pve. You guys get the most content and pvp doesn't even get a quarter of what you guys get. People that play pvp get hardly any content but you don't here us bitching.

          • I think that the put the weapons types in a hat and buff nerfs in another hat and put in the % in another hat. Then let RNG do the work for them Shotguns Buff %5 range Pulse rifles nerf 6% damage

            • Bro, most of the time, balancing in the crucible is also needed in PvE. Let's take Snipers for Example. It was very easy to just use Snipers to do maximum damage from Close and far ranges because it wasn't hard to do at all. It was needed in both PvE and PvP. Then let's look at Pulse Rifles. They were the weakest pieces of shot you will ever see until they got a buff in Year 1. Nobody used them in either. Now let's look at Special Ammo. The ammo economy was leaning majorly towards Special Ammo as it was always available and people would not do PvE or PvP activities with people unless they had a Sniper to use. That's just a few of them. Stop throwing a bitch fit because the game is becoming balanced. The whole point of Destiny is to have perfected diversity where people could chose whatever and still do the exact same as someone else with a different weapon. If something is OP in PvP, it's 99% likely that it's OP in PvE because they are the exact same -blam!-ing weapons that do the exact same damage.

              • They forced a lot of players to do PvP as Heroic Raid is the only way to get stupid Chest armor or Leg Armor over 390. I can beat the Zamboni on heroic but that's it. Tried Vosik and Aksis this weekend and everybody just gives up. Iron Banner has been nice with infusion fuel but where in the hell is the Leg Armor. I have been stucknwith 390 boots for weeks. I'm about done as I see no path to 400 without raid which I plan to beg somebody to Sherpa carry me. Content would be great but it is just too difficult for them to make, idk D2. May try some more IB but close to fed up. One mistake on Aksis and your all screwed.

              • I honestly don't see how anyone can, with a straight face, say that PvP is the main focus of Destiny as a whole. Is it the primary concern of balance? Of course it is. But every expansion puts for more effort into PvE than PvP.

              • I hope you realize the PVP/PVE teams are completely different teams. Like 100% are not the same. I doubt they even talk too much. And a lot of lore was put in with this expansion. And balancing will not be separated much as Bungie wants PVE and PVP guns to feel the same.

                  • i think the state of pve from a solo player is kind of bad 1. not having a single package that goes to max light level is not good and a step back from what we use to. 2. petra (rank 3 to get any thing ) and eris (rank 5 to get anything ) packages useless for a new player aspect probably be 390 light before get close to getting from petra and eris (artifacts are available from arcons forge above 390 light). I am not a new player but it still not relevant to me rank them up . 3. pushing people to regular crucible to having the chance to get weapons and class items above 390 light (iron banner is not included as this is once a month event)that don't require you to get a lucky skeleton key from strikes or exotics that decrypt above your light level . 4 not having a way to get chest and boots (raid apart as this require you to have a team and the current iron banner )from any other way that is not exotic above 390 .

The PvP aspect has not hindered the progression of the story in the least. What has hindered the story is very little new content to further the plot, and 3-5 story missions with a couple story based quests which add only peripheral aspects to the current story line when we do get a content drop.
1) have dedicated developers for PvE and PvP aspects of the game (because it is not one huge world, it is separated and should be treated as such)
They already have this. IIRC, Derek Caroll heads the PvP team and Luke Smith heads the PvE side.
2) have balances in PvP not effect PvE so we (the PvE players) are not screwed over due to an unbalanced PvP
The only way this can be a successful reality is separate the two. 1. Allow weapons to function differently depending on if you're using it in PvP or PvE 2. Have different weapons for both. Powerful god-like weapons for doing PvE content and a balanced set of weapons for PvP.
3) finally, put lore in game, through a library of some sort.
Won't see this until at least D2 next year.

                  • It's chasing the wind because PvP players can never have what they want - balanced weapons for other players while I get a god gun. Everyone wants to be a god while professing to want competition.

                  • This! Why spent time grinding to get new guns when they is just as bad as every other gun you already have? Balance is a bad thing in a pve game. You want to find that one really good gun and feel like a badass moving down the darkness. Right now everything feels the same, most perks is a trade-off almost making the gun worse. And don't get me started on exotics... Exotics should be that special snowflake you always wanted. It should be a hard decision on which one to run whit. Most exotics right now is so bad that a good role vendor gun is better. This need to stop in Destiny2, Bungie HAVE to stop nerfing the game in to an early grave! Does anyone really enjoy the pvp any way? To me it is a great mystery why anyone would choose this broken game for their pvp needs when their is games like Battlefield, Overwatch and CS....
