Which alien species do you think will go extinct first, if any?

Fallen

1984

Hive

434

Vex

48

Cabal

367

None of the above (we will die out first)

The longer I think about how we beat the enemies of The City the more I wonder how we end the fight with each alien species. My money is the Cabal being first. We have the least amount of information on them and their background doesn't seem to intertwine as elaborately as the Vex and Hive. Also, there are Fallen on the same planet as us, so that would be more difficult. The Cabal's empire is outside of this solar system, has an unknown situation at the moment, and would be the easiest to write off as, near if not, extinct. I also want to hear your opinions on this. Edit: I forgot to put Taken in the poll. Also, dying out counts to this extinction poll. Edit 2: "None of the above" counts for Taken as well now. They may seem minor now, but Oryx isn't the only one who can manipulate Taken.
*cough Worm Gods! *cough
Edit 3: Starting to think I should have asked who would've been the 2nd enemy force to be eliminated.

  • As much as I like the four armed freaks, they'll die out first. They're too separate from each other. Maybe if they unite with each other like they did at the battle of Twilight Gap, they might be the fiercest alien race in the solar system. Maybe they would have been as big as a threat as the Taken. But looks like Variks is going to be the last living Eliksni (butchered I think) in the universe for that reason.

    • ALL YOU PEOPLE VOTING FALLEN ARE TINY FOOLS! ! ! Didn't you play Rise of Iron? The fallen have SIVA. Which means: The fallen have the ability to come up with some random item breathing new vigor in their forces. An never-heard-of-item, appearing outta nowhere. As for me, I'm going with OP. Being 800 pounds, I think the Cabal are going to be slow, fat and plagued with obesity illnesses like diabetes and heart attacks.

      • I think the fallen will be the last to go in my opinion. They were already "extinct" when oryx visited their planet. But yet their still here. They are to determined and much to resilient to just be extinguished. The hive have their worms, the cabal have their empire and army, the vex have their whole control time thing. But the fallen, the fallen only have them selves. The traveler abandoned them and they are still here, still a threat. To me personally they are the underdog and have the most to lose. Someone without anything to lose will fight the hardest. It's something very admirable about them. Just my two cents.

I have a problem with your opinion, not that you shouldn't have one but that even you said we hardly know anything about the Cabal. Therefore you cannot state an assumption if you know nothing about something. The Cabal have only sent a scouting party to our system, and their empire is on its way. They have the ability to destroy moons and planets. They know probably as much as Toland about the Hive, and are still learning about the Vex. They are also aware of the Fallen (on Mars). They potentially have the single best coordinated military in the galaxy and their firepower is unmatched. They are also probably the only race to be reasoned with, a.k.a we could be allies as Guardians and Cabal. This is mostly because we have enemies in common and they have some sense of rational thought. Also, we attacked them first (first mission on mars) which was an act of war in their eyes - so all we'd need to do is call out a ceasefire and say sorry about a massive misunderstanding that lead to main leaders of their scouting party to be assassinated. Separate from this; I think the Fallen will mostly likely be wiped. I know that we have yet to see the power of House of Kings, but the rest of the houses are helpless. They would need to band together to be a true threat.

        • The Fallen will obviously first, which is a shame. It would have been nice to see them working with us to fight the more concerning threats of the darkness, for example, the Cabal empire. We have absolutely decimated their chain of command, leaving them vulnerable to other alien races.

            • Fallen first definitely. There's only one house left that isn't definitively shattered, and thats the Kings. Next would be cabal or hive. The main factors would just be how long it takes them to get to our solar system(assuming we stay in the solar system for destiny 2) since they both were probably called out to by the end of ttk. Vex should totally be last since they're time traveling space robots who keep trying to bring back the black garden and nexus. Wait taken are already dead so they're first.

The destructiveness of humans would have destroyed our civilization before the golden would have ever happened if we are being realistic. Humanity will eventually run out of resources on its home planet the people themselves would already be filled with greed and governments will shutdown the world would spiral toward a dark age until a few people remain and eventually we rebuild and the same things happens again until the world is eventually destroyed. We are almost at the peak of the first crash. So if this game is trying to be realistic we would never reach a golden age with the greed that fills our minds.

                • The Fallen will die out first if we keep attacking them. The Splicers are not the Taken, they aren't replacements. Losing so many Splicers, SIVA, and their leader, Aksis, is a devastating if not fatal blow to the House of Devils. The House of Exile will never pose a significant threat. The House of Wolves may try once more, but as of right now they are a shattered house. Winter is nearly destroyed. Kings are the only ones that can make a comeback sufficient enough to cause a lot of damage. Then again, they might not go extinct, maybe Variks can bring them all to their senses. The Hive lost one god, but they still have Xivu Arath, Savathun, the Worm Gods, and the Darkness itself. Xivu Arath is based on war, Savathun was based on manipulation, and Oryx was initially based on understanding. We have another Cabal fleet in the form of Hive or an army of Witches. If we get passed them, who knows what the Worm Gods can do? The Cabal here will always be defeated, but it is unknown how many soldiers they have. Until the Emperor and the remaining chain of command is destroyed, the Cabal will always exist. The Taken under Oryx's control are slowly regaining their original conscious. Noru'usk of all Taken has shown this. It is unknown if they are completely exterminated or if between the year gap (lore-wise) of TTK and ROI they reverted back to their old selves. I don't think Taken can reverse physical forms, but they have been shown to reverse mentally. Unless the Worm Gods directly assume power over these Taken or Savathun or Xivu Arath has figured out how to Taken Queen, then these Taken are out of Hive hands... unless they were Hive before. Vex... Vex have been proven to die. Vex, however, can manipulate space-time. The Vex won't die out without the destruction of the Collective Mind, which is still unknown whether it is an actual collective of Vex Minds or a single Overmind. The Vault of Glass is out of Fallen and Hive hands, which means the Vex can start rebuilding their Time factory known as the Vault. The Vex as of the end of RoI's main story are the most powerful beings in the Sol System besides Guardians, so who knows what they will/can do by Destiny 2?

IMO this is the order, first to last: 1) Fallen; they are a ruined species who are still making enemies out of everyone. It's like they want to die. 2) Hive; without Oryx et al they are weak. However at least they know when to keep their collective head down unlike the Fallen... 3) Cabal; even if the system goes boom the majority of their empire is in other star systems. Time will get to them eventually though. 4) Vex... Oh we're dying out? Hang on... *Vex use time hax* *It's super effective!* There we go. Sorted.

                    • I feel like people aren't giving the Fallen enough credit. They're survivors. They've threatened the city multiple times and can build advanced technology from nothing but scrap (i.e. Servitors, skiffs, ketches) We have no idea how many cabal are outside of our solar system. It's very possible the cabal would become extinct in OUR solar system, but how many live outside of it? There could be forces in other galaxies, taking other planets and we wouldn't know. The hive are reborn after every death unless they are killed in the ascendant realm. Even then, thousands are being newly spawned every day. They certainly won't be going extinct anytime soon. If I remember correctly, the Taken are like the hive and are reborn unless killed in their own realm. Time travel is not understood enough in the Destiny universe to tell what will happen to the Vex. I myself believe in time paradoxes, so it could be very possible to kill off the Vex if time paradoxes existed within Destiny. The different timelines may disprove time paradoxes in Destiny, however. If they truly don't exist in the game then there is hardly a way for us to totally terminate the Vex

We have wiped out so much of the Hive leadership, not to mention their "creator" Oryx. Sure he had sisters left around, but I think the Hive will be the first to go. The Cabal may have had their entire leadership in our solar system wiped out, but there is still a whole empire out there. The Vex are the Vex. The Fallen may seem the weakest, but let's not forget they have posed the biggest threat multiple times. If not for the Queen stopping the Wolves before they arrived, the Fallen could have easily won the battle of Twilight Gap and overrun the city. Skolas and the Wolves raided the Vault of Glass and got ahold of Vex technology. And once we had them wounded and cornered they got themselves Siva and became even stronger. Not to mention we have pretty much no info on the most powerful Fallen House, the House of Kings. The Fallen may be weak currently, but I think that makes them dangerous. Although, I could see the Fallen becoming allies in the future. If you think about it, this solar system is pretty much their home now. With the Hive still a threat, the Vex still a threat, and the Cabal empire marching our way, we may need to stand together.

No way cabal die first. The fallen are isolated to the inner solar system, with all house crippled except for the kings. And if they don't act fast, they won't have anything to manipulate and unless they have something of power then they will die out, too. The cabal are in our solar system, along with several others. They have an empire with th weapons that can destroy planets we barely have scratched the surface of their power. We barely know how powerful psions are, and they have kept a moon in orbit. Their means of defense are unlike anything we have experienced. We have barely scratched the iceberg here.

                            • Unless the House of Kings has a huge population or army I'd say fallen. Hive could exist for a very long time yet due to Oryx's siblings, Cabal aren't really specified in number but have a large population somewhere far away and Vex are... Well Vex.
