I Would Like You All to Give This Some Thought, And Think Hard About Why You Believe in A Round Earth

Picture says it all. https://planetruthblog.files.wordpress.com/2016/04/flat-earth-memes-22-3.jpg?w=503&h=306

  • Using your logic, let me ask you a question. If rock formation would be impossible on a planet spinning 800mph, how could we ever be able to build card houses in an airplane moving at speeds above 1000mph?

    • Lovely sunset (or rise) in that picture. Care to explain how the sun dips below and rises over the horizon if it simply circles over the top of the disc?

      • Did you know an object in motion stays in motion unless acted upon by an outside force? Unless some wind picks up, there's nothing there to act upon the stones. The rocks are traveling at the same speed as the Earth seeing as they are located on Earth. The still air around the rocks is traveling at the same speed as the Earth because the atmosphere follows the rotation. I can make the argument against the "universal acceleration theory" that a person should die if they ever jump into the air. The "theory" posits that the Earth is accelerating forward at a constant rate of 9m/s^2 to simulate gravity. As soon as you jump into the air, the excessive acceleration would completely annihilate your body in the split second the Earth catches up to you. Also, objects would fall at a rate of 9m/s^2. They do not. There's this little thing called "terminal velocity" which cannot physically exist under universal acceleration.

      • To prove curvature, observe sunset from sea level. Wait until the sun has completely disappeared and then the moment it does, elevate your position by a few meters. The sun will again be visible, proving earth's curvature. To do this on paper, draw a circle then plot a straight line from a point on the circle such that it is at right angles with a diameter line. This is your viewpoint at sea level. Then draw another line, originating a few mm above the originating point of the first line and draw the line such that some point along this line connects with the curvature of the circle (second line travelling in same direction as first but angles downward. The space between the two lines is the difference in field of view due to elevation. This proves curvature. If the world were flat, we would be unable to observe the sun setting like this. Go try this for yourself and see that the spherical earth is real compared to an impossible flat earth.

        • Picture doesn't say shit, all it is saying is you look at the speed of the earth and the no other forces at work and then question why it does that, that's be like looking at a timing belt spin and questioning how a car moves forward, there's a lot more at work than just that one thing

Please give your reasoning, using this example, as to why you think that the earth isn't round, and that it's flat. I understand the value of the "question the establishment" philosophy of flat-earthism, but you have to be willing to question your own methods as well in order to be honest in going about this. It's one thing to question the mainstream establishment, which is fair and important to do so (10'th man doctrine that Israel has smartly developed), but what many don't realize is that a devil's advocate must himself have a devil's advocate to keep him accountable in his line of reasoning. If you choose do do so, I will give my own reasoning as to why I believe those trees can stand like so while the earth is round and rotating etc.

              • Technically Earth is slightly pear shaped not round. This is because of the multiple impacts from other planets when the solar system was forming.

                • Why do I know the earth is a sphere? Because the human race has known it to be true for millennia. It was known to the Greeks as early as 500 BC, but was simply philosophy until Aristotle proved the theory, with multiple arguments. Chief among these were 1. that the shadow the earth casts on the moon during a lunar eclipse is round, 2. that the constellations you see on one side of the equator are different than than those on the other, and 3. the further you went south from the equator, the higher southern constellations rose above the horizon.
