This is arguably the best looking armor in the game right now, and one of the selling points of Rise of Iron. However, without spending like $50+ on silver for a chance at these ornaments...we will never get enough of them. Ever.
Trials ornaments can be earned through flawless passages. I'm assuming the new raid hard mode/challenge modes will drop ornaments for that gear. We need an option that isn't unbearable rng to earn the Iron Lord ornaments.
Let us buy them from Xur. Let us quest for them weekly. Whatever.
Thanks for any consideration.
* To everyone saying 'you don't have to buy them': Yes of course I realize that I don't have to do anything. My opinion is that the system of silver dust and the gear requiring 2 ornaments is ridiculous. Moreover, the fact that you get exactly 1 ornament from the book is ridiculous. I was very disappointed in that and felt that completing the book thus far may have been kind of a waste. It wasn't, but still made me feel disappointed. It seems like such a money grab on the part of Bungie. Unnecessarily so. I would be ok with a weekly activity which guaranteed us progress to completing the days of iron sets. But there is no way they will ever be completed with a slim chance at a weekly reward PER ACCOUNT. And if they change it now, all those people who spent $$ on silver to buy the chance at their iron lord armor will be cheated.
These are my opinions
**Also, this post went a little nuts. Many agree. But please do not take that as if I care about this topic more than anything in life. It annoys me so I posted. And it seems I'm not alone.

It isn't 50 bucks man. I got 5 of the 6(helmet takes two) needed in $25 worth of boxes. Roll with $30. Also the record book gives them at a certain rank.

Agreed, what a chance to make old stories and raids relevant and worthwhile. So many missed opportunities to build quest that help grow the community rather than split even more. Ideas *escort - help a low light level guardian complete X number of stories. Weekly support would generate a whole new LFG of people looking to help new low light players with the stories *base light lower than 40. *for the memories - complete all previous raids in a week. *could be a weekly that would encourage old players to assist new *Got your back - X number of assist in crucible, *did it just for you - complete night fall again in a week with at least one non completion in your fire team. *could be done up-to X times a week. All of these simple quest could be issued from Tess with a ornament reward and be repeatable to help support community growth and give rewards to those that help others. Then when you see guardians you think that one is a good person they help others rather than they dumped a lot of cash for some dlc. Just my opinion Cheers

Edited by Percivle: 10/8/2016 6:03:54 AMPut them in as nightfall rewards so that those are somewhat worth doing again.

While I agree, there should be a better way to get these ornaments. I'm not really heart broken over not having them. Not sure if the armor perks are the same for everyone else. But mine are perked for hand cannons. And, scouts and auto rifles are my favorites.

A simple fix would be to allow you to get 7 ornaments when you reach rank 22 that way you can upgrade the iron days gear completely. But that's my opinion. The rewards for rank 22 should be rewards that are for rank 1 instead... They seem too measly to be that kind of a reward for a high rank level.

You only get one ornament from the book!? Wtf bungie? Well actually, that seems about right... bungie doesnt like it's players.

Hey, calm down!!! Bungie/Activision have only made around 1 billion dollars off this game so far. Do you think that can keep the lights on? NO!!!! That's why they need more microtransactions, more money for them let's them keep the lights on in their mom and pop shop. It lets them come up with new and exciting ways to make you wear a useless mask and pay them 20$ for it. Maybe if you would just quit complaining and throw more money at the screen, you're life might be a little easier...

There is a way. GET TO RANK 22 IS THE IRON BANNER RECORD BOOK. Boom! Infinite ornaments.

I want saladins cape for my titan

Edited by Erijian: 10/9/2016 12:08:05 AMI honestly thought they'd be guaranteed drops upon reaching rank 5 in Iron Banner. Guess I hoped for too much.

well, always remember: if you see people with decked out armor, it means the spent a shit load of money to get it. sheeps

I agree.

I think it's stupid how they want you to spend money on RNG again. If I'm spending money at least let me get what I want
-
If they sell from XUR they'll cost 50 silver dust lol
-
Totally agree man the old boxes you could at least earn 3x a week. The new ones you can get one lol
-
-
Sounds like Bungies broke again....
-
I completely agree with you.
-
I would've thought you'd at least get 1 for hitting R5 in IB
-
Pretty sure once you get rank 22 in your book you can just pull them at will. I'm not rank 22 yet so I'm not certain but that's what it looks like. Hope this helps

Edited by Volvogia: 10/8/2016 1:26:53 PMI'm gonna get hate for this but o well. I don't think they should be easier to get. I think it's fine the way it is now. It's just a cosmetic thing. Has nothing to do with stats at all. I main a hunter and have all the armor pieces with the ornaments on it. Looks awesome. I like to look different from everyone else. Yes I have bought silver. It's a vanity item. Shouldn't just be handed out like that. If it's just handed out then there is nothing unique about it anymore. Again this is just my personal opinion and I know mostly everyone will disagree.

Them: "I work and pay for my ornaments cuz I'm not poor" Me: I work but I'm not retarded enough to pay for dumb shit.
