There are literally two other perks in that same tree.
Radiant Skin and Song of Flame Radiant Skin is great. Reducing damage is wonderful in PvP. In PvE tho it's useless. Taking heavy damage in PvE means you are doing something wrong. Like standing in a dumbass spot, moving fixes that. Not to mention, why the heck wouldn't you go Void, if longevity is what you're after? So, many more tools in Void for dealing damage and mitigating damage. Back to PvP...why pick that when you can have Stormtrance and a real super?? Song of Flame is dog shit. Rarely, are you bunched up near your teammates, and the times you are, it's not "abilities" you are using but sniping and this has been the case since y1...with the exception of the BUGGED Aetheon as grenade spam was all you needed to push him off the ledge. Other than that boss, during those few seconds at no other time, in the whole game were folks bunched up to take advantage of that. After the patch, no one popped Song of Flame so the group could throw grenades at Aetheon nor Crota, nor any boss in Kings Fall. It's not even a useful or good idea in the Prison/Challenge of Elders.

Why pick Sunsinger over the other classes, for me, I prefer hardmode. And... I like attaching flaming orbs to the heads of guardians. :-)

When they actually stick anyway.

4 out of 5 stick for me. Once in awhile a hunter can blink it off, but more times than I'd care to admit I stick a Titan who in turn fists of panic to save his a$$. Which is fine by me, cause he got one kill versus a triple or higher.

Back when I was mainly using my warlock most of my stickies would either roll off the enemy or literally bounce off. Shit was infuriating
