How to fix local network fireteam problem

The following video is to help players that share the same Internet connection over an local network or home network to be able to play together again on Destiny. Here are the following steps to resolving this issue: 1. Push the PS button [located in the middle of your controller]. 2. Go over to the settings and enter settings [X]. 3. Scroll down to network and enter network [X]. 4. Uncheck the box for connect to the Internet [X] and scroll down to test Internet connection to make sure it's not connected [X]. 5. Return to network and scroll back up to connect to the Internet and check the box by pushing enter [X]. 6. Scroll back down to test Internet connection and enter [X] and once the test is completed return back to Destiny by pushing the PS button and selecting the title. 7. Follow the on screen directions and start up the game, select your character and once in orbit go to roster and join your friend. 8. Enjoy! *Note: These steps must be completed on every console member on the same local network [home] at the same time. If you or anyone on your local network [home] close the game application and/or powers off their system. All parties will have to repeat this process again in order to play together. This is only a quicker temporarily fix!

  • We tried it and it is still giving the same error. I have now also taken off all the extra ports I activated and renamed both XBOX's but still doesn't work. This is ridiculous!

    • https://www.bungie.net/en/Forums/Post/212803314?sort=0&page=0 This temporary fix does work, if not first time then at least 5 times, then give it an hour then try again, me and my son do this every day and we do connect guaranteed, or i would not still be playing this game. please re post link to help others, TY.

    • Okay nothing against the OP but I don't think this is going to work since it has nothing to do with our networks is something wrong on Bungie side and I can confirm that. A few days ago I posted several threads one or two about this issue me not being able to connect with my son. Low and behold yesterday when everyone started getting those online STD's whatever there calling it I assume that was activated by bungie cause all of a sudden I was able to join my son and vice versa. Now for whatever reason me and him have been gaming all night I passed out and he stayed online playing now we haven't turned the systems off at all and now I can't join him or him join me. So we restarted the systems and tried your method and still nothing. We are on PS4. Hopefully this gets fixed before the DLC we have only until Monday to complete these challenges for the MoT and we need it fixed. Any other help or suggestions would be awesome so we can get back to gaming.

      • Nice post SignOfZodiac! Hopefully this will help some other PS4 players out until they put out a patch. One question, do both sides need to test their connection or just one?

                • One of the Moderators should PIN this as it is a better work around than anything Bungie has suggested.. This actually works as opposed to anything they have suggested.

I cannot understand why this worked i am extremely thankful that it did.. Confirmed on Xbox 1... After all of the troubleshooting and even upgrading to a top of the line router with a second bridged router with total failure all around ... Even tweaking my network with every trick I know with no success.. this worked..( still cannot reason this out) I can even confirm that it worked after hooking up my original network setup with just the Gateway/Router that was provided by my DSL Isp... Thank you very much for finding this work around... Bungie should pay you handsomely for finding this.

                  • If This works you should get a job at Bungie as a PR guy.. since they haven't been able to give us a decent work around at all for over a month now
