this doesnt make sense

i was gone for 3 days and did not play destiny the day before that and yesterday when i came home and tried to play trials it said i was restricted due to unstable network connection. This cannot possibly be true because according to what the information in game displays i have a green bar and never go below that. I even asked the guys i play with and every single one said the never saw me under a green bar. What is going on?? And i already saw the restrictions page and it is not helpful. I do not have bad connection nor do i cheat in any way shape or form. I do not understand why I am restricted unjustly. If i did that or had bad connection i would understand but i dont so why?

  • There are Account Restrictions and Bans in Destiny. These are 2 separate entities. Account Restrictions are temporary, while Bans are permanent. Bungie does not dispute (discuss) or overturn either of them. All you can do is wait it out. • Restrictions and Bans are handed out in waves, usually around every ~5 weeks or so. You can tell because every 4-5 weeks the forums swell with "WTF BANNED?!?!" threads over and over. So your restriction could be for something weeks ago, maybe even over a month ago. As of around June, Bungie has officially started restricting based on historic red-barring: meaning that if you had a tendency to have poor connection for a stretch they will restrict you as a "kick in the pants" to get you to fix the connection on your side if possible. This is on top of the normal reasons. A common reason is a "teammate" kicking opponents from Trials. So if you have played any Trials matches where the other team forfeited or only had 1-2 people a bunch of times -- then it's possible this is a reason as well. As Vince said below (above?) : Bungie does not discuss or debate bans + restrictions. Period. This is likely because EVERYONE would argue it... even though obviously cheating. Then, who do you let back in? The better liar?

    • Oh! Also, I believe they finally pulled the plug on Trials for Legacy systems: XBox 360 and PS3. Clicking your profile suggests you still play on a Legacy system. If true, then that's why. On August 16th they started separating Legacy from Current systems. Eventually, Legacy systems will not have access to: A) Iron Banner (but August will still run) B) Trials C) Live events (Valentine's Doubles / SRL / etc.) D) Future content updates

      • Hey there, In Destiny, there are 2 ways Bungie addresses Users that show misconduct. This is through Account Bans and Restrictions. Account Restrictions are temporary, while Bans are permanent. Bungie does not discuss or dispute either of them. If you're questioning a Account Ban or Restriction, the link below could be the answer as to why you were banned or restricted. Please keep in mind that Poor or Unstable Internet Connection does qualify for a Restriction or even Ban in serious instances. All relevant information can be found here: https://www.bungie.net/7_Destiny-Account-Restrictions-and-Banning-Policies/en/Help/Article/11929 Hope this helps!
