Here's a comprehensive list of all the gameplay features we know about. You can explore, name your discoveries this earns you money which you can then use to buy new gear from traders. You need to learn alien languages in order to trade effectively. You can mine resources and craft items. You can trade those resources and items for money. You can attack convoys to get resources for crafting and selling, alternatively you can defend convoys from pirates and be rewarded with money and faction rep. In interviews Sean has confirmed the existence of puzzles of various kinds being hidden on planets leading to rewards.

  • Do other players that become hostile count as pirates? I could see that actually being really fun ans rewarding for either player.

  • We have no idea what happens when 2 players finally meet in the vastness of the universe

  • I read what happens, but it was from an article way back. It only referred to the ground interaction though. So that lead me to believe there was no interactions between ships hostile to npc players or not,(in the sense of firing at them and something happening) but it did just say you could "grieve" players by either shooting the floor beneath them or their ship to kinda just mess with them. I also read back then that the dev was really against placing character name/psn ID over other players. So it would be hard to tell if you're even near other players, and if you tried to meet up with someone somewhere it would be difficult not only from the whole travel time within the game itself, not only for the sheer mass amount of area to explore to even get there, but when you finally do get to said planet where said individual is, the whole bubble lobby system, no psn id thing makes it unlikely to help you out with meeting your friend lol. Because, well at least back then, it's because there are no preferences or priorities to friends or anything, so you next to 4 other people, you'd get randomly put into one of their 3 man lobby bubbles and the random 4th person isn't seen. All that is from an article I read a long time ago though. I think it's from the "don't think of no mans sky as a multiplayer game" or something to that extent. Ironically, here I am pestering you with a multiplayer question haha. I'm sure the devs were sick of being asked about that so many times. Idk if anythings changed. Even back then it felt like the dude said "a more traditional multiplayer may be added later" might have been just to shut everyone up about it while they even see if it's a task they want to tackle.

  • In later interviews Sean went out of his way to say "this isn't a co-op game, that's not what we want to make here. If you want to play with your friends, go play something else."

  • He also said that back then, but before saying a more traditional multiplayer feature may come later. He either said it to shut people up, or finally realized the benefit of some player interaction at least. I can't tell you how many forums back then filled up with hype with like half the questions, or hell, even topics being about playing alongside a friend. So I mean...the interest is definitely there. It might not have been a game made with the intention of even having any co op, but at the very least you could definitely tell for tons of people out there, that playing with a friend, even just 1, turns it from a game they'd pass on to a game 2+people pick up. So idk. I mean yea...it's their game, it's their baby right? I'm sure devs envision a specific game to create, especially if they love what they're doing. Still though, the pros and cons, choices, and from a revenue standpoint, I can see a feature like that, even on a small scale, being heavily considered to be added. It might sound ridiculous to a person that you list 10 or so activities and they say "man that games boring" but suddenly if it has co op and they can do it with another player they suddenly think said activities are no longer boring right? It may sound odd, but that's the difference between voyaging space with your buddies, talking about life, what's new, all the meanwhile unwinding on beautiful scenery to explore and interact with, or choosing another game because they can't explore together in a convenient way when they've only got an hour to play together.

  • I know what he said in the past, but I'm referring to more recent interviews. Any way I wouldn't expect it to come at all, if it does get Co-Op great, if not I won't mind. Frankly I want a good single player sandbox game, this might be that.

  • I've never played a single player sandbox game before. I guess it isn't my cup of tea though. If this game was story driven with memorable events, memorable characters and character interactions, choices to make to impact the galaxy and make you care about being a part of said galaxy, all that would make me love playing a game all by myself. A weird analogy, but an open sandbox, imagine a sandbox with a few kids in it that are making castles, making their own caves and forts, having fun together, a sand box used by all kids that come and go, each day providing a new experience as the kids are different quite often vs a kid in a big sandbox by himself, making things, but by himself and always by himself. I think the kid by himself could prolong the fun with friends and other kids with so much space around him. Idk if you'd think this is a silly way of seeing it or not. Hopefully not haha but just saying, everytime I see that word I usually imagine this. BUT if the game is just straight out fun as hell to play, feels great, looks great, I mean hey. I might like it right? I'd never know unless I give it a chance. I got a ps4, so I might rent it. There's nothing I'm playing on ps4 as it is currently.

  • Are you going trust a guy that steals super formulas from the dutch and "UI" from Destiny?

Aw look, this poor moron believes everything he reads on the internet LOL. Pathetic. Not to mention he thinks bungie somehow pioneered a basic blocks inventory system that's been around for over 20 years.

  • In math there's no such thing as stealing a formula. You can't own mathematical concepts, you can only discover them, did he claim to have discovered the super formula? No he said he found it online and that it really helped the game's development. The fact that this Dutch company has a patent on a formula is ludicrous, it's like trying to patent E=MC^2 or 2+2=4. These are fundamental concepts of the universe that would have been discovered eventually. I'm not surprised that Hello Games wouldn't have known if it was patented or not, because patenting a formula is unheard of. And really stealing UI from destiny? Destiny wasn't the first to do a minimalistic grid based inventory, they sure as hell won't be the last.

  • I guess no one actually cares about what you do in the game unless they are legitimately excited for it. So much for trying to educate the masses
