Let's talk shotguns
Watched a few reviews on some of the shotguns that are pretty different from the rest.
I'm not talking any of the regularly used legendary variety, but the ones that really have a different feel.
The primary Universal Remote: some love it, others hate it. It's a seriously fun weapon to use and handles very similar to all the others... except for that ADS range.
The quest obtained Chaperone: No spread here, just a single slug that hits hard. When you can get a feel for the range and accurately hip fire this weapon, it makes for some serious run n gun action.
Challenge of Elders Lord of Wolves: So far gone, you almost forget it's a shotgun. Firing 5 round bursts and sporting a 30 round mag, (that's right, mag) you need to constantly remind yourself it's still a shotgun and want to avoid being outside the fall off range.
Which of these 3 do you prefer more often?
I can't really say for myself since I haven't tried all 3, so I'll update when I get my hands on LoW.
Edit: wooow~ I got a dislike just for posting a friendly thread on shotguns... someone must've assumed I was talking shit on them... guess I'll change the title..... nah, it's fine how it is.

3 RepliesUniversal remote allows two secondaries but you will lose some battles simply because you don't have a primary.

I love Invective and 4th Horseman myself. Also have a full auto 2 in the Morgue I am partial to. For PoE and CoE I usually run Rapier, Invective, and a sword *for those pesky yellow bars*

3 Replies*Don't Judge* But I like using the Universal Remote in Patrol, Story, Crucible, Anything except Raid. The Effective Range of Universal Remote helps murder those Self-Res Warlocks. Combined with the Vendor-sold Conviction II, it quickly became my load out for... everything. Also, I use Blink. Let the hate roll in.

6 RepliesLord of Wolves for pve and pvp sometimes, UR fot pvp only if i use a sidearm so i dont feel cheap, and chaperone for pvp if u r good at getting headshots. My preferance is Lord of Wolves mainly cause of its actually decent range (the stats are wrong it works in most shotgun ranges) but chaperone is really fun. UR is cheap if u use anything but a sidearm as your special.

1 ReplyAmong the three, I prefer Chaperone. First off, I think the UR is cheap to use. Well, I feel cheap when I use it. The Lord of the Wolves, even though it has a huge mag for a shotgun, it's almost like 4th Horseman. No range at all. Chaperone is the only "slug"gun that I like among the three that you mentioned. It has decent range, decent impact, decent rate of fire, and a whole lot of stability.

5 RepliesYou forgot the OG Invective my boi. And 4th Horseman but who cares about that gun lol. As for use I rather use my Party Crasher +1 as for it being very reliable in most engagements for me. But if I had to pick an Exotic Shotty to run it'd be a Invective cause of Ammo Regen and a Super Breaker.

Ive never used ur in pvp...didnt like it in pve stuff... LoW is fun but i like TC just gotta get those crits...cant really use it like a normal sg...

Actually just ran 2 of my new alts to level 5 in IB.....no shotgun, not really by choice...They were only 280 light and I didn't have a decent one, ran Fusion Rifle for the whole thing.....that being said, out of the 3 Lord of Wolves......but I'd rather have Invective.

3 RepliesUniversal Remote is just too costly for what I get from it. I have to give up my Primary and my Exotic. If I loved to snipe, I would like it more, but I don't. Chaperone has a tremendous skill curve that I haven't tried to overcome yet. Lord of Wolves is easy to use and very rewarding. It's even more rewarding as a Defender running No Backup Plans. I think the choice is clear.

3 RepliesI honestly haven't used shotguns all that much since HoW. It's just not the same. The closest thing to traveling back in time to the glory days is UR, so I guess that's my favorite.

Someone else made a good point that you will lose some battles because you're giving up a primary, but ultimately i feel like it helps me be more conscious of my movement and position when shotgunning in general. If you aren't in a situation to charge in for the kill, you'll have to work for it. Pairing with a sniper is a good idea.
