I did what people suggested and it was to play in teams and use the meta. Whoa and behold my k.d shot up about .3 across all characters on both ps4 and xbone in a very short amount of time. This includes playing iron banner when i started out my alts at around 310 light. I didnt have much fun using the same weapons over and over and kept wondering why they kill so much faster than regular versions of the same weapon and kept getting hate mail. The k.d is still going up because theyre just too easy to use along with fireteams.
