If you like Reading Instead: Long Post These shotguns are well known in the crucible due to their ability to reliably kill with a single shot. First lets look at the lower impact versions of this type of shotgun. This archetype includes the Silence of A’arn, Binary Dawn, Deidris’s Retort, and Two To The Morgue. - They Fire at about 52 rpm default and 104rpm with full-auto - Deal a maximum damage per pelt of 21 to 22 to the body and 26 to 27 to the head (damage varies depending of barrel choice) - Deal a maximum of about 260 damage total per shot - 10 pellets are needed to kill (fires 12 per shot) - TTK with two shots is about 1.15s default and 0.58s with full-auto These shotguns have very good range and damage, able to get 1 shot kills from a fair range. They also do kill quickly enough with 2 shots to beat most primaries body shot kill times. This means that if your opponent is not hitting headshots you should usually be able to get two shots of your shotgun on them. With full-auto there is the usual trade off; you lose some of your range ability but gain enough fire rate to put your two shot kill time above that of any primary weapon. Next, lets look at the highest impact tier of shotguns. This includes only the Conspiracy Theory-D and her Champion. - They fire at about 45rpm default and 90rpm with full-auto - Deal a maximum damage per pelt of 22 to 23 to the body and 27 to 28 to the head (damage varies depending of barrel choice) - Deal a maximum of about 270 damage total per shot - 9 pellets are needed to kill (fires 12 per shot) - TTK with two shots is about 1.34s default and 0.67s with full-auto These shotguns have the best damage and the longest 1 shot kill range. The only issue that they shot so slowly, if you don’t get the 1 shot kill you will likely not get a second shot. These are best for skilled shotgun users who are great with their movement abilities and can aim accurately quickly. With full-auto these will be very similar to the last tier. Overall this tier of shotgun is your best for getting reliable 1 shot kills and is highly oriented for a skilled player. The other shotgun to note is the Party Crasher +1. The party crasher is in my opinion the best shotgun of the high impact tier. It has a fire rate closer to the 1st tier (I don’t have one to test for its exact fire rate) and the best range of any shotgun in the game. This makes it one of the best for 1 shot kills and not feel slow like the conspiracy theory. It was my personal favorite in year 1 and its new year 2 version riddles the crucible and is a favorite of many (sadly RNG has not prized me with one).
