We all know CoD, we either love it or hate. Recently however, a new trend has been going around everywhere on the internet that CoD is dead because I bunch of people don't like the future so therefor a WWI game is better. And now Call of Duty's new Infinite Warfare trailer has over 1 million dislikes, and I'm actually questioning wether or not most of them actually dislike the video or want it to get the most dislikes ever. My problem is this cancerous #ripcod nonsense. Seriously, you have to be 12 to actually go around and spam this literal cancer everywhere. But in the end it doesn't -blam!-ing matter. It doesn't matter how many people dislike a video, or spam a hashtag, because you're all going to buy it anyways. You'll get it for the modern warfare remaster, or to play with your friend, or any other reason. And this is the reason that CoD is not dead. Most gamers hate CoD but will buy it anyways, they'll tell you how much of a fgt you are for playing CoD but will play it themselves.
Edit: I can't believe I actually have to do this. It seems people are missing the entire point of this post. Some seem to think I'm defending CoD for some reason, others seem to feel the need to correct me about how they won't buy it. First off, if you're not planning on buying it I really don't care, and look up the word hyperbole it will help you in the future. Secondly, the point of this post was me voicing my opinion about how I feel that people are just disliking the CoD video just because. Do I think it doesn't deserve it? -blam!- no, I'm pretty satisfied seeing CoD start to burn. My point was this bandwagon of haters will still buy the game anyways, it's the same shit with Black Ops 3.

And to think infinity ward created some of the best CoD games out there. Such a shame they can't go back to their roots. I mean they can literally just make a story for the game it doesn't have to be actual events. That's just my opinion

Edited by wojo55: 5/14/2016 9:36:16 PMMore people want older era fps then future era. They outnumber you. Of course Activision is going to cater to what would give them more money. Not sure if it's too late for cod after iw as I'm sure it's well into the development part. If is too late I imagine they will lose even the fans that buy it every year regardless if it's good or bad. Haven't bought cod myself since ghost and I want cod4 remastered but I'll easily skip it if they don't sell it separately

Related note There was a "Boycott Modern Warfare 2 until it has dedicated servers" Steam group and the entire list showed most, if not all, of the members playing MW2.
-
Havent played CoD since Mw3 released. Not planning on picking up Infinite Warfare.

I use to love CoD. Ghosts was the last CoD I paid for. I completely skipped AW. I only got BO3 because I got a free game and extra controller when I bought my Xbox One because GameStop had a deal. It was BO3 or Halo 5 and I said -blam!- Halo 5 because of no splitscreen. Anyways, I was gonna get IW. I had the Legacy Edition pre-ordered. But after the last few days, I've completely said -blam!- that. 1) I saw the Battlefield 1 trailer. 2) The last few days the BO3 servers have been super shitty. Yesterday I had two matches where it ended up being 5 vs 7. Then the other day I was in a match that started out 5 v 4. During the load screen 3 players quit, then 2 minutes in, a teammate got kicked for inactivity. Then an enemy quit half way through. The match ended up being 2 v 1. Not once did a new player join. The game ended 22-6. Yeah CoD can go -blam!- itself. I cancelled my pre-order of IW and put it towards Battlefield 1, Pokemon Sun, and Pokemon Moon.

hope they get booed off or some shit
You'll get it for the modern warfare remaster, or to play with your friend, or any other reason.
That it totally untrue.
-
I just would like to see the COD video get more dislikes simply as a joke.
-
I, like I do with other games, will wait until I see game play or reviews before I get the game
-
No... The people who say #ripcod aren't twelve year olds. It's in fact the twelve years olds who keep the game alive.

Edited by MSGT Gonzalez A: 5/14/2016 5:42:29 AMI tried so hard, just to lose it alllll....
But in the end it doesn't -blam!-ing matter
Here, lets bury it for good, HEY HANZO! DO THE DRAGON THING! ryuu ga waga teki wo kurau!
-
I'm not fond of the whole power suits. Id be on with the game if they didn't have that. The last one I really enjoyed was black ops 2.
-
Haven't bought a Call of Duty since MW2. So no, I won't be buying it.
-
I'm on the rip iw bandwagon I ONLY BUY TREYARCH
-
#ripcod
-
The #RIPCOD thing happens almost every time a Battlefield game is announced.
-
The only good CoDs are Modern Warfare Modern Warfare 2 Black Ops Black Ops 2 World at War
-
Not a CoD fan, I bought one of the games to play with friends. Never played a battlefield game and I like WW1 so I might buy it. That has to say something good right? A game franchise pulling me in on its own and not my friends making me play it, regardless if I like or dislike it
-
I honestly hate call of duty, and I always have after modern warfare 2. They keep trying dumb things too. Advanced warfare was literally one of the worst multiplayer games I've ever played. And the campaign for black ops 3 was completely awful. Now with this new trailer their selling point is space battles? It deserves the dislikes. Can't really say it's going to be awful as I haven't played it, but if they keep up the trend they've been setting then I gotta say that it just can't be good. I hate call of duty for a reason, and the new trailer was pathetic imo. But you're right, most people are going to buy it anyway, which is why they keep selling shitty games. They know people will pay whatever for them, activision knows this which is why the remaster is only available for $80. God forbid a company actually takes care of its fans and sell the only good thing seperately.
-
Don't plan on wasting any money on that....thing. Haven't for years
-
I want cod4 but I'm not gonna pay that much for it lol. Only if it goes separate
-
cod4 is cool but im not paying $100 for a remaster thats not even the full game, and some more bs jet pack futuristic multiplayer. cod is losing its real fans. you just look retarded trying to justify the fact that they're giving us a stupid game, by saying "you'll still buy it" lmao. you look so stupid
-
I'm may just buy both. That way i have both ends of the spectrum. I like both concepts but that is just my opinion.
-
I don't love or hate it. First statement already false. Not reading anymore.
-
I didn't exactly acknowledge it as a trend. I've hated every release since MW3. Last one I bought was Black Ops 2 back in 2012, and it just felt like a better MW3, so at that point I just stopped.
