I've had this game for about a month now and I found that it only took me around two weeks to hit level 34 and do pretty much all there was to do in vanilla destiny, given that all focus is on TTK content now.
I bought TTK and I've been enjoying it up until now. I'm stuck at 305 light now and because I'm a solo player, I can't really find ways to get my level up more since I can't do raids and I can't do high level things successfully yet, like challenge of elders. The game's pretty much spoiled me by giving me everything it has to give me (quests) in such a short time and didn't make me grind much. I realised that the game really spoonfeeds you it's content, because for example, if i haven't got a crucible quest, I don't really feel inclined to play crucible because there's no definite reward (like I've been used to). Is it only me?
Update: Didn't expect this thread to get so popular - a lot of people are almost getting onto me for this post. I wanna clear up that this is a discussion about confusion that fresh Year 2 players have to deal with when being thrown into this massive open world. Most new players wouldn't initially know where to look for the fun content these days because some of it hasn't actually been revamped yet, like Queen's wrath reputation. For example, I was really interested in The Reef at first but when I started TTK, The Awoken already had their asses handed to them, so that pretty much puts a massive halt on that area of the game. Fortunately, I played the expansions in order so I understood what was going on, but not everyone is like that...
I recently have found PoE, Court of Oryx and the Crucible to be really fun but this isn't just about me, I'm talking on behalf of all new players that, like me, did the lower level prison of elders stuff and got rewards that can't be used anymore.
Update 2: For all those asking, I'm a PS3 player, ID is same as above.

CoE and ranking up factions is what did it for me. Before the April update I was 314 and now without raiding or strikes I'm at 329. IB helped a little but ranking up House of Judgement and Dead Orbit has done wonders.

Play another game? Destiny isn't the only game in the world....
-
Prison of Elders can help you get to 315 or higher. Try it.

I farted once while wobbling side to side in orbit contemplating such ideas about posting for a VOG raid for fun but then it hit me by that I mean my fart oh vile it was and that's all I have to say about that JEENNNAAY.

Get a ps4 there's a bigger player base

Edited by Deadmennwalking: 5/3/2016 9:52:17 PMAdd Deadmennwalking and join Elite Guardians Dont Die. We will help you raid, COE, COO etc.We can help you get the clan raider trophy and also flawless raider, clan strike etc. Also there has already been a forum post from a solo player that is level 335 and has never done the raids, nightfalls etc. When I first started playing Destiny, I too was a solo player. Then I just started sending friend requests to rsndoms on patrol, in strikes, in the tower. These days I am constantly helping others do their raids etc. Good luck.

PATROL PATROL PATROL AGAIN OMFG patrol is the most underrated part of this game. I use it to burn time, try out unusual or older y1 guns, load up on planetary mats and finally see if I can set a personal high score for kd. current running is around 630 I think, so this weekend if I've got a few hours I'll try to bust that 700. good luck if you try the same!

You can rank up to 330 with vendor packages and you can hit 335 with exotic engrams. So play PvP or strikes whichever you prefer. Also if you don't want to play solo I'll help you level up, I'm on ps3. Add me if you like, I mainly play PvP but I can help with other things if I'm in the mood lol. Oh and only if you have a mic and you're not squeaky lol.

I take the time to carefully shave my genitals without cutting myself, then I award myself a feel to reminisce on my youth.

Play other games. No, seriously. Play games. Lots of them. Games are fun. Too many good ones to burn yourself out on just one. When one gets stale, play another.
-
Doo do do do doo
-
The game gives you nothing else to do? Sorry but just from that statement alone this is quite pathetic. You choose to play solo You choose to miss out on 1/2 the game
-
Keep making posts on what to do for 5 more months. You ain't getting new content until then.
-
Get friends It's such a change, the April update Spoonfeeding tho? Hmm Year One would have been something else for you then
