Did no one here see they they are nerfing it's damage by 40% AND reducing it's fire rate?
On the stream each bullet was only hitting for 22 damage. That's WAAAAY lower than it is hitting for now. It's time to kill will be the slowest of any sidearm in the game.
This gun will remain garbage tier thanks to them beating it to death with the nerf bat. What it amounts to is basically a pulse rife with horrible range, low fire rate, low magazine count and a long time to kill.

Yeah it's a shame the damage is going down along with the rate of fire, but i'm gonna go ahead, show it my love, and hope for the best. Who knows, it might surprise everyone. Besides, it's a fun gun with tracking so if anything it will provide nice clean up kills.

If it got that tracking and range buff with the same rate of fire and damage now....
-
Yes it would have been too good, but a 40% damage reduction on top or a rate of fire nerf is too costly a penalty for weak tracking rounds. If you're thinking it's going to track people as ruthlessly as Truth does, you're in for a rude awakening my friend. I could possibly have swallowed the 40% damage nerf if they ketp it's rate of fire intact. But judging from the game play shown on the stream it's actually got a fire rate comparable to that of a medium rate of fire pulse rifle like Nirwens Mercy or Red Death. That's horrible for only 22 damage per bullet.

Why not just leave it untouched???
-
Yeah you're making me rethink this gun. I've been using it the past couple days thinking it would be my first purchase after the update but idk now
-
My advice is to just use the year 1 version after the update hits and see for yourself. The year 1 version will behave the same as the year 2 when the update hits. In normal crucible play levels don't matter so it will perform virtually the same. It will have the longest time to kill of any sidearm and take your exotic slot. If that's OK in your book knock yourself out.......
-
That's not okay. I was expecting the current version with longer range and tracking

B!tch, dab!

It's a three burst sidearm. Every burst (if landed in the head) does 66 damage

Edited by NegativeCycle: 4/8/2016 2:42:59 PMyes which makes it a 4 burst to kill pulse rife with a low fire rate, and horrible range. It's going to be garbage.
-
Edited by Ciudecca: 4/8/2016 2:44:11 PM3 head burst = 198 = can kill medium armor and it has good range
-
Edited by NegativeCycle: 4/8/2016 2:51:01 PMYou're not seeming to understand. It's basically a low impact pulse rifle with a low rate of fire and long time to kill. Even if under best case scenario you kill a low armor target in 3 bursts, it will still have a LONGER time to kill than virtually any other sidearm in the game. They are nerfing it to shit with a 40% damage reduction. Low impact pulse rifles like Grasp of Malok hit for 23 damage per bullet and fire twice as fast from what I gather from seeing Dreg's Promise rate of fire on the stream. Even Pulse rifles like Hawksaw, PDX-45 or Bad Juju are capable of a faster rate of fire and more damage to boot. You're getting excited for no reason if you think Dreg's Promise will be good.
-
Not getting excited, but I thought it was going to be good
-
With the penalties it's getting it's going to remain garbage. I wanted it to be good too, but this is not the way. No one will use it after they realize it's going to have such a long time to kill.
-
And by the time you even fired those shots your dead by Spare change Pdx Grasp Mida Hawksaw Hawk moon Suros Any other side arm.. ... I really think your not seeing the problem with the changes. It's still going to be a rubbish gun.... Fun.... But rubbish just like year 1. Which is a shame I like how it works.... never mind....
-
Exactly my point. There will be no practical reason to use it.
