It's Been 6 Months As of Today Since The Release of The Taken King

What are your thoughts on TTK 6 months post release? Provide as much critical feedback as possible. Maybe Bungie will notice this post!

    [u][b]The good:[/b][/u] 1. Improved storyline flow and character development 2. Has a raid 3. SRL 4. Iron Banner rotating modes of competition (even if I hate rift!) 5. Quests for guaranteed loot 6. New subclasses [u][b]The Bad:[/b][/u] 1. Rehashing of the strike playlist and modes; repetitive strikes 2. Addition of new strikes would have been good, but you substituted 5(6 with omnigul) newish strikes for the 6 old ones we had! 3. Making nightfall a joke! 4. Nightfall poor rewards 5. Obsolescence of Y1 gear. This would not have been so bad had it not been for..... 6. REALLY poor quality Y2 gear which is not an adequate replacement for our Y1 gear. Only a tiny handful of worthwhile weapons. 7. BAD infusion system. Its not that infusion is bad in theory, but when it is complemented with poor RNG AND the fact that good infusion fuel is hard to come by, the result is a broken system that is punishing and discouraging. It needs to be reworked. 8. Poor raid rewards: Why are we getting normal drops in the hard raid? why are raid bosses dropping mouldering shards? Why do we get worm spore out of boss chests that appear after killing a boss? Why are we getting gear with lower light than what we have on? 9. Removal of elemental primaries 10. The PVE nerfs for the sake of PVP 11. Lack of any weapon, legendary or exotic, which anyone is really excited to get. No G-horn, B-Hammer, etc. = nothing to get excited about when drops happen 12. Timegated content. Quests should not have timegates, period. 13. Pointless grind. Farming 5-6 hours for materials for your sword? It would not be so bad, but the materials we need to farm all disappear when the sword quest is active!!!!! 14. Bounties - they're irrelevant now 15. Faction/Vanguard/Crucible Rep - pretty much impossible to level up without spending tons and tons of motes/synth/parts to level up. Effected greatly by #14. Even when you do bounties, you barely get any rep for it. 16. Xur's stock. Honestly, when was the last time you woke up early on a friday to go see what Xur had? 17. Shader/Ship Drop rates from strikes, cryptarch, etc. They haven't been there since TDB day's. 18. Patrols/Patrol Events are irrelevant 19. no Opt-In matchmaking for several endgame modes 20. Bullet sponge enemies in general. Why does it take a high level character a full clip+ to drop the shield of a T2 enemy in the nightfall when I'm 30+ levels over the required level? 21. Raid mechanics overemphasize ability to jump and individual skill in certain phases, leading to raid frustration 22. Obsolescence of Y1 endgame content. 23. Watering down/nerfing of GOOD perks from Y1 (send it, field scout, firefly, etc). 24. The Speaker, The Stranger, both are MIA. 25. Nolandroid's voice replacing Dinklebot. Alternatively stated: no voice variety for ghost/no less annoying option. [u][b]The Ugly![/b][/u] 1. Rotating Meta - it needs to go 2. Weapon imbalance. Kinda reiterates #1 but its worth stating twice. 3. Lag issues in PVP 4. Fusion rifle nerfs 5. Stealth nerf of faction rep gain, glimmer gain, and Three of Coin effectiveness. 6. Repetitive content. We are still playing the same areas forwards, backways, and sideways. I am sure if there was a Zero-G mission, we would also be playing through them upside down. 7. Lack of any reason to explore areas. Areas are much smaller than advertised. This is a continuing issue from Y1. 8. Limited paths to max light level loot. This needs to be addressed, or can be completely ignored, depending on how they address/rework the infusion system. 9. Class balance. This is not really aimed at PVP, as most people would think, but in PVE, the new subclasses are so much stronger than the old Y1 subclasses in PVE that you are really discouraged from using them. Gunslinger doesn't do enough damage with GG, Fist of Havoc is alright, but getting that close will likely result in you getting killed in high-end content, novabomb is good, but stormcaller outclasses it, and Hammer titan is just meh after nerf. 10. LUKE SMITH. 11. [Edit] Re-dicing and Rehashing of Y1 storyline. The flow in early missions (what flow we had) was made even worse when all of Y1 was questified. Now some missions you don't even need to play (Shrine of Oryx).

    • They ruined this game by foolishly thinking PVP was the priority. They weakened Guardian's and weapons way too much. The lack of content has ravaged the player base.

    • TTK felt like a big bandaid... They removed almost everything players praised from HoW. They took 2 steps forward and one step back. Some improvements were very welcome, like some half decent (and only half) story telling, but they ignore or kill of characters they had only introduced in year 1 and never expanded upon? From just playing the game all you know is that Crota is bad, Cayde is snarky, and Eris is a killjoy. The new strikes and unique strike loot was a decent addition, but again, it's just another repetitive grind. Their biggest mistake which they brought over from year 1 is that every single thing is designed to make you grind, which isn't the worst thing, but not when you never feel rewarded for doing that grind. The grind would last over multiple days because you can't properly achieve anything through their RNG system in one play session... Finding anything above the light level you need is difficult enough and more frustrating than anything. I have 0 desire to play Destiny after grinding TTK for a couple weeks, had no desire to do the new raid, did maybe half and was uninterested, especially with the way the loot is, as RNG is almost always unrewarding in Destiny, same with the nightfall. I would come back if they brought back etheric light, or implemented some kind of system where I can use my year 1 gear to be on par with the rest of my high level gear, and of course the return of elemental primaries. They add more enemies with elements in TTK yet remove our best offensive tool to combat them. Who cares if people don't want to stick with their old guns... Guardians are supposed to be powerful intimidating wielders of the light, the arsenal should only improve and get more rediculous over time, not removed and replaced with whatever the hell we have now. Also... Exotics re-added incrementally over time? Having to be purchased or found again? wtf is with that?

      I think they took a big step forward in story, but screwed up everywhere else. The loot system is great until you hit endgame content and then it's terrible. The decision to leave Crota, PoE and VoG behind, as well as all the strikes was borderline idiotic. The decision to remove elemental burns from primaries took away any reason I had for running HM and made the raid primaries useless. SBMM has taken what was already a shaky PvP at best and turned it into an impossible lag fest (they're working on this though). The constant nerfs have taken away any of the enjoyment I used to have from having weapons drop. Remember Ghorn and the reaction people had when it would drop? There isn't a gun in Destiny right now that gets anywhere near that reaction. Overall, I believe they shot themselves in the foot here and I wouldn't be surprised at all if we see very low sales for Destiny 2 as a result. That's just how I feel though.

      Not a fan of the Taken. Strobe light twitching all over. Ive killed Oryx so his Taken should be no more. That would take an attempt at tying in the story to gameplay. I miss the other enemies. The originals were fun. The taken should have been temporary. I cant believe theyre asking 80 bucks still for it at walmart hahahahaha

    • By removing 1/3 of the content I feel as if they've screwed the pooch. That's been my biggest let down. HoW was the pinnacle of Destiny. Everything was relevant with [u]multiple[/u] paths to reach max.

    • Loved it at the start (besides kissing goodbye to my Fatebringer and Gjallahorn) as usual with the Destiny DLCs, but I'm on the same page with everyone else when I say content is way more dry than it should be right now.

      Six months in and problems still persists: Blink strike one shotting full health players by sometimes activating "Backstab". Bladedancer not registering hits on contact while in super. Golden Gun is not accurate when ADS. (Hit box is now smaller than usual) Nova Bomb is not accurate when launching from the air. (Splash radius was reduced) Hammer of Sol's tracking was reduced too much. MELEE ATTACK IS BUGGED OVERALL SOMETIMES CAUSING PLAYERS TO FLY OFF THE MAP OR INTO OBJECTS RESULTING IN "MISADVENTURE". . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Hand cannons accuracy and range reduced too much. Resulting in The Last Word being used constantly in competitive matches. Fusion rifles.. (sigh) Auto rifles still not competing with pulse rifles. Only one auto rifle competes with pulse rifles and those are the high rate of fire. (Doctrine of Passing/Arminius-D) . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . - [u]Elemental Primaries[/u] are what the community is missing. - Make the old raids and Prison of Elders relevant again.(Add challenges) - Bring back Y1 ToO concept. Always loved the fact that I could buy a mercy after my 7th win, without wasting my passage coins like I am now buying all the boons.(Passage coins drop rate has reduced since HoW. Increase the drop rate) - Make Omnigul and Psions an ultra. - Increase the drop rate of strange coins. - Increase drop rate of legendaries in crucible and strikes. - Add shaders into the game please. I paid for them. (The shaders aren't dropping from strikes, crucible, or the cryptarch) . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Fix the Hunter's exotic helm, Achlophage Symbiote. (Less time on super) Fix the Titan's exotic gauntlets, the Ruin Wings. (Heavy ammo doesn't flood the ground like it did in previous dlc like TDB/HoW) Make the old exotics relevant again for variety.(Vex Mythoclast/Thorn/Pocket Infinity.. The GlassHouse/Khepri's Sting/Purifier Robes)

      • It's a joke. The double grind wastes everyone's time. NF is not worth doing for the crappy rewards. All my time from year one was shit on by making it entirely irrelevant. PvP "rebalancing" has ruined some of the few good, fun guns. None of the big issues in PvP have been fixed, or addressed, either. (Cheaters, lag, rewards, etc.) Infusion system only makes the grind even more horrible. Largely in part because the end game weapons are so underwhelming that even when you get a 320 to drop, it's not viable to use in any list. The few worthwhile weapons drop at such a low light level that the grind starts over every time you get a weapon you'd like to use. This also kills the variety of weapons used in PvE, and PvP. And, last on my list; but not last to be mentioned: No communication to the players on what's coming. This "road map" of content is barren. No word on release dates, if it'll cost anything, or if the Eververse Trading reduced cost/made it a free dlc. And honestly, the next content drop (how it's handled) will decide if I delete Destiny, and even give Destiny 2 a thought.

          After doing the hard mode raid every week since I started, and doing the oryx challenge every time it came up, I still have yet to get a harrowed helmet on any character. This DLC is pure shit. The only reason I have a 318 on my titan is from srl, which should be back and the drop rates increased for all game activities.

          1, Bungie start by making the venders relevant. As it is now the stupid rotation timer on everything in the tower serves no purpose. Rotation Bungie means something else takes its place. 2, Bungie open up the borders and make missions and add would bosses to the this game to at least make patrol a little more entertaining then what it is now. When this game came out it was worth doing petrol and that's because there was purple engrams to farm. Now them chest are just collecting dust. 3, Stop nerfing every single thing in this game. 4, seperate PvP from PvE. Nerfing everything because pvp gamers overly complaining is ridiculous, and it has destroyed the PvE aspect of this games experience. 5, do something, but stop this rinse and repeat of our leveling system. We dont need to keep testing things out for you Bungie. 6, get rid of the time gates. Other words make good with your statements on how ttk was soppose to be less of a grind. If the next Destiny is anything like ttk loot drop that has tripled, kings fall 20 different light levels to every weapon and gear pice. Making gamers grind for days for useless flacks. You think Division has hurt your player base now. Ha! Lol. 7, if you're going to make a raid. Doing this copy and paste of Vog and Crota and calling it Kings fall wont cut it. At least try to come up with something unique. Vog was so what happened? The only unique thing about kings fall was the 3 swinging platforms from when you first enter kings fall. Most of kings fall was using the same aspects of Vog and Crota. Not impressed... 8, matchmaking, clan roster etc. Add the things that most games have that are a comon thing. It is 2016. Not 1970... 9, bring back our power. Making us take less damage to kill us, and making the weapons do less damage while the bosses and some minions are harder to kill is not a challenge. It just makes the gamer gring a lot more for nothing. I want to destroy things like we were able to in year 1. I don't want the next 8 years wasting time just grinding knowing your RNG is broken. I know i could add a lot more, but these things are the most talked about and something Bungie needs to focus on and do right by the community. One last thing Bungie. Do yourself a huge favor. Stop lying to your community, its at the point that it is really making your company look pathetic knowing it has never gotten you anyware.

        • It cut out too much of the game and don't bother to even attempt to replace even 1/4th of what it removed. I've played enough progression games. I get that content becomes irrelevant, but I also know that content is replaced 1:1 or as close as the devs can get to that.

        • Had great story missions and FINALLY brought to life the Vanguard leaders and even a little to the Amanda Holiday. Made the year 2 strikes no longer a wait 3 waves and then continue. Plus switches up what enemies u face. Can gain reputation faster for NM, FWC, and DO. AND YES THIS IS TRUE! Farm strange coins and turn them into xur for heavy snyths and turn those in for rep. Gained 5 levels with 113 coins. Year 1 i was at rank 71 with dead orbit 9 with FWC and 3 with New Monarchy. Now 74 DO, 9 with FWC, and 61 with NM. and its only been 6 months. New Destination with mysteries and interesting lore about the Hive. Plus heavy swords which are bad ass! The raid was a huge improvement over CE and PoE. Not drops just how the raid mechanics. Will get to drops later. New subclasses are amazing love being a sith lord. Strike specific gear was a great addition. 3oC's was a great addition. Drop rates for me are usually one out of 10. Huge fan of the Omolon weapons Lastly thanks to No time to explain year 2 players got to experience VoG, the best raid still, if they choose to complete the quest that is. Now negatives.....ugh New Light level system is garbage! Did nothing but increase the grind and cause more frustration then EVER! Raid drops are garbage except the LMG. Plus u turned raiding from hope i get said weapon to hope i get this light level. Raid weapons suck Still only 1 exotic gear piece for new subclasses. Exotics are not as memorable. Rng is worse then ever Nightfall rep nerf drop nerf no longer glowing heads No ascend weapons to year 2. Which btw this is a bullshit thing! Deej said who wants to use a weapon for 10 years? Well if that was the case then Year 2 Red Death, TLW, MIDA, Truth, and the other year 1 exotics that came to TTK wouldnt exist. So -blam!- that bull shit reason! Primaries with elements was taken out was stupid! No new content for PVE PVP is in the worst state since launch. The timing of Refer a Friend Removal of re-rolling weapons Nerfing of Sunbreakers was beyond ridiculous. I main a warlock and use lock only for pvp and I think it was way too much. Trials is not as rewarding as it was year 1. After 6 months there is truly nothing to do. Ive ran raid over 40 times between 2 locks and was only able to get a 320 ghost because of crimson days. Again -blam!- the new light system.

        • My thoughts are that bungie is pretty terrible at making things that aren't halo, apparently, and that developers should try making games they'd like to play. I know one night not want to play a game they made, but the fact that they were there throughout the whole production should be the only reason they don't want to play; not because they are the most fully aware of what utter garbage it is.

        • Stopped playing within weeks. Jumped on once to help a mate in the raid but absolutely no interest. Unless they issue public statements humbling themselves regarding their actions (i.e. never make your hard work irrelevant, make the grind less, and other falsities), i won't be back to this or anything within this franchise. I only come on the forums now (even stopped that for months) to see how everyone is liking the Division :) Put that in your pipe and smoke it, Bungie.

        • That's why I got battle front. Now the division. I feel bad as destiny was my absolutely my favorite game ever but now the grind is the same thing over and over. 6 months and no new content what a joke and punch in the face of destiny players. That's why I see my friends list 90% are playing the division or something elese. Bungie is digging their own grave. #cozmo
