Largest reaper ships are around 2km in length....the largest covenant ships are 29km in length. The smallest covenant ships are good match up against reapers but the entirety of the covenant is way to large for the reapers to handle. Covenant slipspace will also make them A LOT more faster then the reapers.

The covenant fleet had many ships that were smaller.
-
They could still fight the smaller reaper ships. A small group of maybe 3 covenant cruisers could probably take on the largest reaper ships. The reapers are just horribly outclassed here. even though you nerfed the covenant they still outnumber the reapers badly
-
The Reapers had 100s of thousands of ships, they are not really outnumbered.
-
And what good is a 2km when the covenant have 29km ships? One covenant carrier can wipe out a fleet of reapers. And on too of it you put the reapers on covenant turf. They don't know where anything is other than the solar system earth is in. Other then that everything is different. The Relays would be extremely dangerous because they can run right into a planet, asteroid, or sun. The covenant slipspace is considerably faster then the relays which provides a huge advantage.
-
The relays are arranged so they won't be firing them to hazardous areas. The covenant doesn't have a lot of supercarriers, most of their ships are significantly smaller.
-
That's just super carriers. Every covenant carrier such as assault carriers, COS, CAS, and so on are all much larger then reapers. Covenant CSS battle ships are only around .3 km shorter then the largest reaper ships. They were also the most common types of ships in the covenant
-
The fight will be even in terms of firepower because this is the very thing I want to avoid. There are other factors to war.
-
It won't be even between a carrier and a reaper. It would take massive amounts of the largest reaper ships to take just one out. And the covenant has home field advantage over the reapers. If the reapers find a halo ring they won't be able to do anything. The covenant on the other hand will know what to do which would also give a huge advantage.
-
The Covenant will kill themselves if they find Halo. The carriers are rare in the Covenant, this most of their ships are below 2 km.
-
I didn't say they would activate halo ( they probably wouldn't because humanity is gone) but they can use other forerunner structures such as the dreadnaught or other similair structures. And the covenant ships are just Barely smaller. And it doesn't matter if the covenant ships don't have that much carriers they would be destroying anything the reapers through at them. And do the reapers have their planets come with them? Or is it just their fleets with them
-
Edited by Edcub One: 3/5/2016 3:53:06 AMThey would still activated because they believe it would start the great journey. They can't access other Forerunner technology due to not being reclaimers.
-
Actually the prophets accessed a forerunner dreadnaught in their war against the elites. So the the covenant can activate certain things but not all of it
-
Edited by Edcub One: 3/5/2016 3:54:05 AMNever mind then.
-
If the covenant decide to use the dreadnaught they already have or find a new one to use they will 100% destroy the reapers. A forerunner ship is just way to powerful for anything in the ME universe.
-
The dreadnought has no weapons that the covenant know of.
-
The prophets decimated the Sangheili with it though?
-
But why didnt they destroy all the elites and UNSC ships then?
-
The elites surrendered and swore their alligeince to the prophets and ag the beginning of the Human-Covenant War the dreadnaught was used to power high charity. And they didn't use it because they thought there was no need to use such a "holy" device to exterminate humanity
-
Edited by Edcub One: 3/5/2016 5:18:23 AMEven when they were being shot at? Anyways i remember a statment that said they stripped the weapons after Mendicant Bias tried to take over the ship during contact harvest.
-
They stripped the weapons they 'knew of' others where still there they just couldn't find and describes them all. Also depending on the scenario of the Reapers go after Earth first then that leaves the Covies free to claim the thousands of Forerunner warships found 'inside' Arcadia during the events of Halo Wars giving them a boost in ship numbers with far more advanced weapons then the ones they already have.
-
They haven't discovered human space at this point in time. And the reapers won't go after humanity as their goal is to defeat the covenant.
-
Well in that case then the events that lead to the discovery of the forerunner happen without the need of humanity so it's likely they would still be found and used with no humanity to stop them/destroy the shield worlds sun.
-
But they weren't able to access the shield worlds technology without Anderson.
-
They were pressed for time the covenant have shown a remarkable ability for reverse engineering Forerunner tech they would at least create more powerful ships and weapons from them.
-
Possibly.
