However, we can pull a little information from this leak. We now know that No Man’s Sky will be slapped with a full game price of $59.99, despite being an “indie” game. Not that that means anything anymore, right?
We can also guess that Sony has some plans for No Man’s Sky tomorrow, March 3, and it’s reasonable to assume that this will be information regarding pre-order options. We should be seeing those pop up on the PlayStation Store before the week is out.
Either that, or someone at Sony was just totally wrong and made huge mistakes all across the board. In that case, this leak means nothing, putting us back to where we started with just a June 2016 release window.
However, given the timing of the release and fact that Sony wants this to be much bigger than the rest of its indie library, the pre-order date and price fall into the realm of reality. Keep an eye out for more No Man’s Sky information this week.
The game will also be released through Steam for the PC audience.
I was expecting it to be cheaper...
EDIT: Well, now the majority says it's okay with them, so I guess it wasn't a terrible decision on the studio's part. I still wish it was more like $30 though.
-
Being bored is free! Why would I pay money for that?
-
FACT: Video game developers are scared of game prices between $30-$60, and cannot apply said prices to their games.
-
Pretty much every game that comes out is $60 so it wouldnt be a surprise
-
Lol $60 for a indygame? This is mine craft with weird aliens and lots of planets. Don't get me wrong I'm not hating but why are they pricing it as a triple A game?
-
60 bucks for 18 quintillion planets? They ought to charge triple
-
Jim -blam!-ing Sterling son.
-
Just like every other next gen game...
-
I don't know how games like Halo 5 were $60. That's where the problem is. A four hour campaign, and not a single space battle? You can't even explore planets, for god's sake.
-
And you idiots are still going to buy it.
-
I don't get how $60 is not OK for NMS. But it is ok for Assassin's Creed, CoD, Battlefront, and pretty much every sterile, safe, by the numbers release. If they want to charge $60, it's fine. If it can do well at that price point maybe some "AAA" games will actually try something innovative. If you can't afford it, or don't want to pay that much it's ok. Wait for a sale. Stop being fricking babies ffs.
-
Can anyone inform me what PC specs i need for this game?
-
It could have been $100 And I'd still support Hello Games. There is literally a life time of new planets and solar systems to explore. Sure its Prolly not a game you'll play every single night for hours on end. But for years to come ill enjoy just cruising the universe, and making my own story along the way... Its a casual space game. And thts good enough for me :)
-
Honestly with the amount of content possible(nearly infinite) the game is well worth more than 60 bucks. That's my opinion
-
I'll probably pick it up on PC as long as its reviewed well. Definitely not preordering it. The price seems fair to me as long as it's a quality game.
-
People bitching about this yet happily pay 60 for assassins creed every year.
-
Complaining about price is moronic. Just wait a month for a sale. The worse a game does, the faster the price drops
-
It has over 4 quadrillion planets I think they earned the 60$
-
If they think their game is worth 60$, then more power to them
-
Better than 69.99
-
I'd like to ask in what way do you people determine how much a game should cost? Why did people ever assume this game would be anything less than 60 to begin with?
-
Already preordered ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
-
Let wait closer to release to decide the price tag it should have
-
Think of it this way, if you payed one penny per planet it would cost you more than 1,000,000,000,000,000$
-
Good thing it will be on PC, at least I can pirate it. Freaking greed heads.
-
I'd have to see the final product before making a true judgement.
-
I don't get it. Did people think it was going to be a mini game or something? $60 is normal.
