An idea for a new crucible mode! To

So, here is my idea of a fun crucible mode. It would be called restriction. Firstly, the main restriction is on weapons: no using secondaries or heavies. Primary only. Then, each match adds ONE random extra restriction, among these could be: No exotics (if someone has only exotics, it automatically gives them a white auto rifle for the match), no jumping, no grenades or melee, no supers, no sliding, weight of darkness, and more! The game mode it is based around would be either rumble or clash. Skirmish would also work. This will allow people to focus on killing and not need to focus on any objectives. This whole time, I've run simulations in my head (14 at this point) about various scenarios, and couldn't think of any way to improve, but if anyone has any ideas, feel free to give me input!!! As Third said below:
Add random environmental effects: - Gravity changes to a random direction every minute - Lights out...you can only see other players from their flashes when they fire. - Weather the storm...heavy rain obscures view, wind pushes you, lightning randomly strikes - SNAFU...thumb sticks remain the same but all other button mapping is completely randomized.
As LovelyBones17 said:
I'd like a control mode where ads drop in .. Like you're trying to hold a control point whilst fighting the opposing team and WHAM an ogre appears. Next thing you know you're fighting with or Against your enemy. How great would it be to run into the enemy control point with a herd of thrall behind you?
AcidRhonin had a great idea for another game mode:
Hunted You spawn in as an over powered yellow bar enemy. 1v5. Basically juggernaut style game play. Option 1: Spawn in as one Option 2: Work your way up through the ranks after so many kills gaining more powers and becoming stronger. (Thrall>acolyte>knight/wizard>ogre) Works similar to all factions. The juggernaut(minion of darkness) is in 3rd person, has destructive attacks and regens shields quickly. Guardians play normal, with random drops happening to help them out. (Heavy/special after so long/so many kill, scorch cans, buffs, orbs of lights, and maybe even bikes and the bomb version of them spawning later in the juggernauts life.) Options(Random) for Juggernaut if option 1 is used. -wizard -boomer -sword knight -centurion -phalanx -captain -vandal -servitor -taken captain -taken centurion -taken wizard -taken knight -taken phalanx If Option 2 is used then juggernaut would spawn in as an overshielded, over powered tier one minion of darkness(thrall, dregg, psion, taken thrall/psion, maybe shank lol) and would move up with kills(equivilant of using a super but only kills would add to the meter. Intellect, discipline, and strength would have no effect on the juggernaut. Explained later) Ideas for Moves -All moves would be the same as the ones in the game. -level advantages would be turned on -juggernaut minion of darkness would be leveled at hard mode raid automatically. 310-315 All other guardians would be leveled to their current level, similar to IB and ToO. Ideas for Juggernauts Specials or Kill Streaks Option 1: special or kill streak 1 calls ads to aid you. Would match your faction(hive, fallen, etc.) Option 2: special or kill streak 2 either mutates you into a higher forum or yourself(start as dregg>vandal>Captain>Randal jk), turns you into a taken form of yourself, or summons an advanced boss to aid you(shield goblins, ogres, colossi, etc.) Option 3: special or kill streak 3 ? Gameplay Either juggernaut to 50/guardians to 5 Or Every juggernaut death sees a new guardian taken and comes back as a minion of darkness. Could still be juggernaut to 50 vs guardian to 5. The juggernaut kill counter wouldn't reset. Or A set timer.
ChapelRansom gave this idea of another fun game mode. I think it could be pretty fun:
I didn't read all the replies (most of the ones I did read were awesome), so forgive me if someone came up with something similar. So this game type would be a six man elimination-style match, but ressing teammates is restricted at the start. No one starts with super energy, and can't generate it normally. PVE enemies spawn in an the start of a match, one of them is a strong major or an ultra. Primary ammo only at the start of the match. Once the major is down, ressing is allowed and secondary ammo chests spawn (no longer a darkness zone or something in the games' fiction). Additionally, the team that killed the major has their super meters start to fill. The person who actually scored the kill gets full super. Any adds despawn once the majors go down. I'm thinking it would require three rounds to win, because five would take too long. Light level would probably need to matter for the PVE elements. Not sure how to fit heavy into it, but it could show up on specific matches like in normal elimination.
Edit: you guys are awesome! Generally good ideas and discussion and I love it! Edit 2: why the hell is the "To" in the title there? And why won't it go away?
