Remember when???

Remember when patrols were actually fun? I remember when I first started Destiny. I along with most of my friends picked up the midnight release and we all couldn't wait to pop the game in to start our adventure. After our first couple of missions together, we all tried out patrol. And we loved it!! Finding chests, killing random enemies. It surprised the hell out of us when a fallen walker dropped from the sky! We had a blast trying to kill it. We failed the first couple of times with our low level gear. But eventually we killed it. And those were some of the best moments of Destiny! But a week later once we were all level 20 and started leveling up, patrol was just plain boring! There was no need to do them anymore. The couple of ascendant shards or energy and gathering some materials were the only reason we bothered patrolling anymore and that was still a drag. Now there's almost no reason to patrol! A quest here and there but that's it! There's no fun it anymore. I'm not speaking for everyone here but definitely for me and my friends that play regularly. I know this sounds like a complaint but it's not. (There's enough of that in these forums) One thing I would love to see in Destiny 2 for patrols is first off have more places to go to and also make it level/light based. For example have Cosmodrone for people lvl 1-20. Have European sector 16-40, new earth sector with max level and minimum light requirement of ~300. But do the same for each planet. Also make leveling up harder. Going from level 40 to 50 should be a lot longer to level up. This would make our fun last longer and keep giving us players something to work towards. That's a couple of ideas and things that I would like to see happen. What about you guys? Or what are some ideas you guys would like to see?

    • Remember when people would find a chest and wave at you? Now if somebody waved at me on patrol, I'd be like "The f*** you waving at, buddy?" and then I'd do the throat-cut emote.

      • theres another post with some really good ideas posted somewhere around here, i love patrol though, its a really the largest part of the game yet its lacking, yet theres so much potential for it.

        • Have NPC's and vendors out in patrol. Make the world feel more alive by collecting bounties from them instead on some stupid beacon on the ground. There should also be areas out in patrol where there's a collaboration of PVE and PvP ( the one thing The Division does much better than Destiny)

            Yup. I think those are great ideas. The problem with patrols is that there aren't too many people on them. You still see people on the dreadnaught patrol farming their bounties but that is. Ultimately the patrols are unrewarding after a certain level. Which is too bad. The coolest thing about the Venus patrol was seeing people going into the vault of glass. The moon had a chance for that. Would have been so cool to see people dropping into the hell mouth. I sunk a lot of hours into patrol early on. It offers the most potential for a pve mode
